1. I messed with the curves adjustment layer a little bit with this image to brighten the middle in between the two highlights. And also cropped this image a little.
2. I completely reshot this image from the rough draft critique.
Etter de 2 første kampene med tap for Alta, slo de Bryne 2-1 i Finnmarkshallen. Gratulerer med 3 poeng! :-)

Scenic/Wide-Angle #1
I wanted to capture this once-in-lifetime view that immediately won my heart when I stumbled upon it in the best manner possible. I used the automatic setting feature on my DSLR to get the soft background hues in an ombré effect and the shutter speed/aperture duo to preserve the sharp silhouette of the tree. This was just a few minutes before the sun sank completely below the horizon and I felt very lucky to have had the chance to witness this awesome scene.
This was taken in Rye, New Hampshire.

Eli is here. Arrived 8:01pm, January 24. Mom, Dad, and Eli are doing fine. Grandkid #2, grandson #1. I wonder if he will like bicycles?
1. I met a friend for lunch today with the single-minded goal of having poutine. I tried the pulled pork poutine which, as it turns out, is really overkill and I think a waste of two perfectly good foods that taste great individually. But the lunch was still awesome and I am thinking strongly about instituting Poutine Wednesdays. (They have various kinds at this local place, in addition to awesome regular poutine).
2. Rather than stew in annoyance over the idiots running Canada gradually back to the stone age, I took my camera out for a short walk and got some nice pictures of the spring blooms around the neighbourhood. Trying to remember to get more practice in even if it's not wtih a specific goal.
i am experiencing one at the moment
it's for the best
2 reason's why my photo's are all hidden
1. i am kinda in a seemingly never-ending
indecisive mood... for almost a complete year now
and i tell ya... it is a most annoying state of mind to be caught in
i am dealing with it though
face to face
blah
blah
2. i want to enter this self-portraits contest
as part of the prize is just a dream for me
simple
a simple dream
and i am having difficulty on deciding which photo's to submit
so i have taken them off of here
out of sight
off my walls at home even
seeing what stays with me
so...
i ask you
which of my photo's stay with you
???
i need to narrow it down
and appreciate your help in doing so
too many self's
too many stories behind them
it gets mixed up for me

hydrangea on the lawn last Sunday, April 1...I was at the eldest daughters house, clearing things out, I put some things on the lawn for those who might need them, there was that old coach lamp we received as pay from our friend on the lake many years back, it still held it's charm, the large fake plant from Kevins apartment in Barrie, a metal stand which I placed a pile of VHS tapes on, it was a goodbye said with objects to that house which had harboured so much sadness, three kitchen chairs were piled in our car and taken to a shelter.
On Sept 1 I headed out first thing in the morning looking for something to shoot north and west of the city.
Swainson's hawk seen north of Calgary.
1.I picked my watch out of 1 of the 3 objects because I use it everyday and it's really great for still life.
2.The effect of the lighting made stand out but made the background look like purple instead of blue.
1. I used Jenga blocks and set them up to follow the natural frame composition. I thought it would be cool if the Jenga logo showed through. I just built a frame and made it a framer for the composition.
1.I got inspiration to shoot my cubism from the shooting challenge, Sheets since I thought having a ghost like appearance in a photo gives the picture a more mysterious, unsettling look. It first took a few tries since the original plan was to have it in the dark and have some blue tinted lighting which didn't work out so i settled for using a lamp to shine on the subject.
2.What I did was try out a few test shots angling myself to stay still while moving the camera horizontally, up, down and zooming in and out to see what to have in the photo. Having a main subject in the middle really helped because you could easily tell what parts to add to the picture to fit it like a puzzle.
3. My initial plan was to have a dim blue toned lighting, giving it a dark but lightened look and have a couple props with the subject to have some dimension in the picture but it just didn't work out from small space and not knowing what props to add in. Overall I did come up with ideas as I worked shooting it, putting a lamp to shine on the subject so it gives off a shadow to have the same effect of an unsettling look.
This photo satisfies requirement 1. I used ISO 200 in order to make the image less sensitive to light and thus darken the image. I used f/3.5 and shutter speed of 1/500 seconds in order to underexpose the majority of the image and reduce the amount of light getting to the lens. This photo was shot at Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden in Vancouver.
My only thoughts while eating this burger:
1. I should have seasoned with more salt and pepper.
2. I should have ensured that all yolks were runny.
3. I should have flattened the patty to make it fit the brioche bun better. I shaped it a little tall while I was evening out the sides, which made the burger taller too for no apparent reason, and overall messed up the patty:bun ratio. Goddamnit.
I really, really can't enjoy my own food when I put in a lot of effort.

Diumenge 2 d'octubre:
Itinerari per la conca de Tremp, laboratori geologic a l’aire lliure, on farem un viatge al•lucinant de més de 100 milions d’anys. Les explicacions aniran a càrrec del geòleg Jordi Panisello, de Tremp.
