Cap de setmana d'alt voltatge al Pallars Jussà, amb incursió a la vall Fosca. Fascinats pels seus formidables escenaris, hem anat a l'embassament de Sallente, on hem observat el paisatge esculpit per les geleres. També hem visitat l'antiga mina Eureka, de minerals d'urani, i la famosa central hidroelèctrica de Capdella. L'endemà, itinerari per la Conca de Tremp, laboratori geològic a l'aire lliure, on hem fet un viatge al•lucinant de més de 100 milions d'anys.

Gaudint en tot moment de les estimulants explicacions del geòleg Jordi Panisello i el guiatge de David Llardén, de l'Hotel Alegret de Tremp, on ens hem allotjat.

Dissabte 1 d'octubre:

Al matí:

Visita de l’embassament de Sallente on hem observat el paisatge esculpit per les geleres. Després hem caminant, observant els diferents trets d’una vall fluvial fins a Cabdella.

A la tarda:

Visita al Museu Hidroelèctric de la Central de Capdella i un recorregut per les seves instal•lacions

Visita de la mina Eureka (de mineral d’urani!), font de l’energia nuclear (2 h).

En aquesta mina és on s'ha descobert recentment l'Abellaïta, la primera espècie mineral nova descoberta a Catalunya, a càrrec del sabadellenc Joan Abella.

I had to adjust the highlights in the light bulb because it appeared a bit too bright

Reason #1 I used food coloring to dye the paper: Finder, sitting on the used backing paper. "Template" is in background. (The template was a flower i folded, painted while it was folded, then unfolded to see what colors should be where. I didn't find a columbine pattern which took advantage of double-sided paper for differing petal colors, so i faked it by painting paper to have the color locations I wanted.)

1.I took photo while I was following my friend around as he goes through his day as a college student. I took many photos of him but this photo in particular was interesting to me because I really like how it shows him holding a person and picking up a brochure. He’s in the library for the most of his day in school because he wants to really focus in school and keep his grades up. So I decided to capture him studying and followed him around. I shot this photo when he was done reading and I followed him to see exactly what he was going to do next and interesting enough he went to look up and read brochures of the Army, Navy, National Guard and so on.

2.It was really hard following my friend around as he goes about his normal day as a college student. I was literally inches away from him when I took this photo. I only one shot to take this photo because he was moving pretty fast. Since I only had one shot I choose to take it vertically to show the height of the person and to rule out any other distraction around him.

L'església de Sant Pere de les Puel·les és el que queda de l'antic monestir del mateix nom i tampoc es conserva igual que la construcció original que en successives destruccions i restauracions ha anat canviant el seu aspecte. Sant Pere de les Puel•les va ser un monestir benedictí femení situat a l'actual plaça de Sant Pere de la ciutat de Barcelona. El monestir va ser fundat al segle X amb el patrocini dels comtes de Barcelona, la documentació més antiga que se'n conserva és l'acta de consagració de la seva església romànica, que feu el bisbe Guilarà el 945. El monestir va reemplaçar l'anterior església de Sant Sadurní, que ja existia al segle IX. De la construcció del claustre hi ha documents del 1143. El monestir va tenir un paper important en la configuració del barri que l'envolta, fora muralles fins que el rei Jaume I en va fer construir les noves, que resseguien l'actual ronda de Sant Pere i tancaven el barri de la Ribera, enderrocat parcialment pels ocupants espanyols després de la guerra de 1714. El desenvolupament de la zona es va veure afavorida pel suport dels comtes i la presència del rec comtal, un curs d'aigua que facilitava l'activitat industrial. El conjunt va ser afectat per les desamortitzacions del segle XIX i actualment només es conserva l'església, reconstruïda totalment després de l'incendi del 1909 durant la Setmana Tràgica, l'original era de planta en creu grega i l'actual és de planta basilical. El claustre fou enderrocat el 1873 però se'n conserven 10 arcs gòtics del segle XIII, són a les finques 1 i 3 del carrer Sant Ignasi de Terrassa. Font: Vikipedia

The Tiger Club Air Show 1987

Without any doubt the highlight of the 1987 Tiger Club Air Show was the completely unexpected appearance of the Italian Tiger Moth aerobatic team Le Tigri. The team flew over as part of a brief Italy-England rally, together with a number of other vintage Italian aircraft, and Redhill was their only (ever?) UK airshow appearance.

The team comprised Tiger Moths I-BANG/1, I-CEDI/2, I-NONO/3 and I-GATO/4. This formation departure was right at the end of the show, and, with all seats filled, was probably the team getting away early on the first leg of their long journey home.
