Violette awoke in bracken and felt immediately somehow empty. She listened, but heard nothing at all. As she moved to stand, she saw there were beads of blood on her torn dress… her heart was gone
.
Luckily this happened to our only immortal girl, whose heart didn’t beat anyway… but who would do such a thing?

Created in 30's of XX Century, the North American Aviation T-6 Texan was a single-engine advanced trainer aircraft used for training pilots.
From 1961 to 1975, Portugal, also, used hundreds of T-6G in the counter insurgency role during the Portuguese Colonial War. During this war, almost all the Portuguese Air Force bases and air fields in Angola, Mozambique and Portuguese Guinea had a detachment of T-6Gs.
This is a shot of a little lake in the State Game area of Lapeer, MI. With unusually warm weather, the fall colors are a tad late this year. The start of the reds are there in the distance, but here's to hoping the colors will take off in the next week!
Life is so strange
Destination unknown
When you don't know
Your destination
And something could change
It's unknown
And then you won't know
Destination unknown

Found next to the burial site of John the Apostle in Ephesus, Turkey, on a beautiful sunny day where turtles are actually making babies on the grave, one can feel that there is something missing. A basilica maybe. Maybe from the 6th century. 'Cause it used to be there...
Pacific National's 7106 leads loaded coal train UV03 on the northern missing link line at Norwich Park. 7133 and 7131 were in mid-train DPU capacity.
Did I miss you
I get the feeling I just did
But the peace is there
The calm heart lingers
I have needed you more
Than just at Christmas
And you seem to know
When I have got too low
Reminding me gently
To lift my gaze upwards
So I can see you
Feel you with me
Hear you call my name
Yes, then and now
You say, it is always the same
I have been collating a collection of images to load up at long last and this one was going to be in that group. I have a little more sorting and work to do, but something has made me want to upload this one now. Hot off the press, written this afternoon. I remembered how I was feeling when I took this image on Christmas Day, 2019..
And thought maybe somebody else might find comfort from it as Christmas moves closer.
Thinking of you all, stay safe & well. Looking forward to sharing images and looking at all your gorgeous photos.

Fellow photographers at the Major Taylor Velodrome in Indianapolis, IN. I liked how the 3 cyclists are spaced and frame the photographers.
The word "missing" came to mind as I considered posting this photo of me and Cristy......for several reasons.
First, our friend Katie was with us but she is missing from this edited photo. Sorry. She was not absent, lost, gone nor misplaced - just missing.
Second, I've been missing both friends since we gathered last year. Sad. In this case, I've felt a yearning, perhaps craving, to see them again.
Fortunately, any feelings of melancholy are overcome by the thought we'll be together again very soon.
Over the past two years, the importance of friends has an amplified presence in my life priorities.
You too?
Nora
On this day in 1956, the world was blessed with the birth of a baby girl. She grew up, got married to the love of her life, and had 2 beautiful children. Sadly, when her daughter was only 17, and her son a young man, she was taken from her loved ones at the young age of 38 by breast cancer. That woman was my amazing Aunt Karon. It's been almost 24 years since we lost her, and I still miss her just as much today as I did when I got the call. Happy Birthday, Aunt Karon. I love you.
