Autumn Harvest
We are approaching the traditional end of the harvest season of the old agricultural year and entering into the dark half of the year. At the time of this last harvest, also known as Samhain or Halloween, the hedgerows and trees are bursting with edible fruits, nuts and berries. I've collected just a small selection here for a seasonal still life. Hawthorn, Rosehips, Sweet Chestnuts, Crabapples, Wildings (apples sprouted from discarded apple-cores, often crossed with Crabapples), hazelnuts, acorns (edible if correctly processed), blackberries and Sloes.
