France/Italy 2017
In September, 2017, I took a 3-week trip to France and Italy. I arrived in Paris on the morning of September 6, and remained in Paris for a week. On the 13th, I flew to Venice and stayed three nights in Mestre, which is a short bus ride from Venice. On the 16th, I took a train to Bologna and stayed for three nights, hosted by my friends Teresa and Monica, whom I met in the Galapagos in 2013. On the 19th, I took a train to Pisa, where I stayed in an apartment owned by my friend Monika, who was born in Pisa but now lives in Berlin. While in Pisa, we took three day trips to Florence and one to Lucca and Viareggio. On the 27th, I flew back to Paris and spent one more night there before flying back to Virginia on the 28th. This was my first trip to Italy. I had been in Paris twice last year.
