Rue du Pélican

Not far from the Louvre is a street called Rue du Pélican. I like streets with bird names. Near my hotel was Rue de Ortolan, which runs between Rue Monge and Rue Mouffetard. The Ortolan is a small songbird whose numbers have declined because some French people consider them a delicacy to be eaten.
