Seychelles Tortoises Mating

At the zoo in the Jardin des Plantes, a couple of Seychelles Tortoises began to mate. Unlike the Dunnocks who can mate in a tenth of a second, tortoise mating is very slow and loud. The female was flat on the ground with everything but her back legs inside her shell, while the male was on top, letting out loud grunts while he stretched forward. Some small children were standing nearby with their parents, echoing some of the grunts of the male.
