Italian Sparrows

Another species I had never before seen was the Italian Sparrow. We saw some on a roof as we were leaving the regional park. They are not related to North American sparrows, but are closely related to House Sparrows, who are a native species in Europe but an invasive species in the United States. There has been considerable debate about their status as a species.
