Location: The river Prüm in Irrel in the South Eifel near the Luxembourg border and not far from my home.
Looking for new perspectives today I found this place, where you stand in the water. There I hear then only the sound of water, a true meditation.
Ort: Das Flüsschen Prüm bei Irrel in der Südeifel nahe der luxemburgischen Grenze und nicht weit von meiner Heimat.
Auf der Suche nach neuen Perspektiven habe ich heute diese Stelle gefunden, bei der man auch ins Wasser muss. Dort höre ich dann nur das Rauschen des Wassers, eine wahre Meditation.

The wide view of the Wittlich Valley to the Moselle mountains, here on an April morning in 2022 shortly after sunrise with heavy clouds and Sahara haze, plus the early blooming wild cherry trees and sloe bushes.
Der weite Blick in die Wittlicher Senke bis zu den Moselbergen, hier an einem Aprilmorgen 2022 kurz nach Sonnenaufgang bei starker Bewölkung und Saharadunst, dazu die früh blühenden Wildkirschbäume und Schlehenbüsche.
You might not expect to come upon a castle while visiting Spokane, but that is exactly what you will do if you visit the Spokane County courthouse. Most of us associate such architecture with romantic old castles in Europe, or perhaps something out of the world of Walt Disney or fairy tales. To find such a building in the center of a modern, growing regional hub city such as Spokane is a bit startling.
The courthouse is said to closely resemble two famous 16th century chateaux in the Loire Valley of France, the Chateau de Chambord, built in 1519 and the Chateau d'Azay Le Rideau built in 1516. Many architects through the years have commented on the masterly replica of a 16th century French Renaissance design, its fine lines of style and proportion with regard to the towers and turrets, the sculpture, iron and brickwork which excel in pattern and craftsmanship. Detailed exterior trim such as shell patterns with wreaths and festoons and decorative arches are a few of the outstanding features of its design. The beautiful center tower, now lighted at night, is a masterpiece of detail in itself.
Sant'Apollinare Nuovo (Ravenna).
La basilica fu fatta erigere dal re goto Teodorico nel 505 come chiesa di culto ariano con il nome di Domini Nostri Jesu Christi. Fu la chiesa palatina di Teodorico (cioè una chiesa per l'uso della sua corte).
In seguito alla conquista della città da parte dell'Impero bizantino (540), l'imperatore Giustiniano passò in proprietà della Chiesa cattolica tutti i beni immobili già posseduti dagli ariani. Tutti gli edifici legati ai goti e all'arianesimo furono integrati al culto cattolico. La basilica ex teodoriciana venne riconsacrata a San Martino di Tours, difensore della fede cattolica e avversario di ogni eresia. Sant'Apollinare Nuovo porta i segni tangibili di quest'operazione: la fascia sopra gli archi che dividono le navate era corredata da un ciclo di mosaici con temi legati alla religione ariana. Su iniziativa del vescovo Agnello, il ciclo fu cancellato e la fascia ridecorata ex novo. Furono risparmiati solo gli ordini più alti (con le "Storie di Cristo" e con i santi e profeti), che qui in foto non di vedono bene.
È un edificio a tre navate, quella centrale, larga il doppio di quelle laterali, terminava con un'abside semicircolare all'interno e poligonale all'esterno, che fu ricostruita nel XVI secolo e decorata nel XVIII secolo, assumendo l'aspetto attuale, che è stato recuperato di recente, segnando però sul pavimento la pianta dell'abside del VI secolo. La navata mediana è delimitata da dodici coppie di colonne poste una di fronte all'altra che sorreggono archi a tutto sesto.

Am vergangenen Dienstag habe ich kurzfristig eine kleine Fototour in die Eifel gestartet. In den Tälern hing noch Nebel, der aber der Sonne immer mehr weichen mußte, Ähnlich erging es dem Schnee aus der Nacht zuvor. Während der Aufnahmen klarte es auf und die Sonne schien bis ins romantische Liesertal.
Last Tuesday I started a small photo tour in the Eifel. In the valleys there was still a mist, which had to leave the sun more and more. It was similar to the snow that had fallen the night before. During the shooting it cleared up and the sun shone into the romantic Lieser Valley.

Sad but now my sun is shining in another place.
Cannot wait to explore my new region.
Sorry for my absence, as you know things will be packed and this evening the dinner is made with my good friends I leave in this region.
