Uppātasanti Pagoda ; also called the "Peace Pagoda is a prominent landmark in Naypyidaw, the capital of Myanmar. The pagoda houses a Buddha tooth relic from China. It is nearly a same-sized replica of Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon and stands 99 metres (325 ft) tall.

The bridge was built by The City of Calgary to connect the southern Bow River pathway and Downtown Calgary with the northern Bow River pathway and the community of Sunnyside. This connection was designed to accommodate the increasing number of people commuting to and from work and those utilizing Calgary's pathways.
I was fascinated by the Peace Bridge and because my hotel was right behind the Shaw building I could go there anytime I wanted...:-))

An oldie re-posted just because.
This lakeside park makes me think of that Rush song. Are there any other Rush fans out there? Surely there must be amongst our Canadian friends. Saw them on their R40 tour in Denver of all places in 2015. Lifelong dream achieved. Anyway, I digress. Park + lake + sunset + bench = peace and relaxation.
Happy nearly Friday :)
This cut-leaf beech was, and still is, my favourite tree in our local park. I've taken many pictures of it in the past, when its beautiful boughs almost touched the ground, making a splendid shape.
Recently, the 'Management' decided to cut off the lower branches, drastically reducing its magnificence and majesty. They will never, ever grow back. This is what is left. Still beautiful, still majestic, in all its autumnal glory. But .... it just isn't 'right' now. Many feel so sad - and remember the way it used to be, before they injured it.
One of only two cut-leaf beeches in the park.
A picture of this beauty taken in 2010 is in the first comment box.
Thank you, Kerstin Frank and Lenabem-Anna for your beautiful textures.
Back to my trip up to St Cyrus at the weekend for this shot. The whole scene was every bit as tranquial as this image suggests.
You can see the rock formation and cottage in my earlier post on the left hand side of this.
Modern houses, almost castles on the banks of the frozen Moskva River. Krasnogorsk near Moscow. Russia.
These buildings look attractive at any time, I like to look at them and take pictures. But I would not want to live in such a house, it may be comfortable, but not profitable.

Autumn time in Stellisee , Zermatt. No. 293 294 295. Canton of Valais, Switzerland.
"The Stellisee (2,537 m) is among the most famous of Zermatt’s lakes. The sight of the Matterhorn reflected on its mirror-like surface is breathtakingly beautiful, and is made for magnificent photographs."
Thank You for your inspiration, take care and keep on doing ...( Please ) !
Warm greetings / Zak.

Lac de Vallon is located in Haute-Savoie (France), at 1,080 meters.
Nestled at the foot of the Roc d'Enfer, it is a magnificent mountain lake formed following a landslide in 1943. Under the waters of the lake, you can discover the ruins of sunken hamlets.

The Laugavegur is a famous trekking route in South-West Iceland from the hot springs area of Landmannalaugar to the glacial valley of Þórsmörk . It is noted for the wide variety of landscapes on its 55 km (34 mi) path. The route is typically completed over 2–4 days with potential stops at the mountain huts at Hrafntinnusker, Álftavatn, Hvanngil and Emstrur. An ultramarathon is held on the route each July. It is possible to combine the trek with the Fimmvörðuháls route which goes over the pass from Þórsmörk to Skógar for an additional one or two days or an additional 25 km (16 mi). Landmannalaugar, Þórsmörk, and Skógar are all reachable by bus during the summer. A bus from Hella connects with Álftavatn once a day during the summer.
After extensive restoration, the 1911 Historic City Hall opened its doors as the City of Lake Charles' public art gallery and cultural facility in 2004. Since that time, Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center has showcased numerous traveling exhibitions from around the world, as well as regional and local artists. The Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center (HCH A&C Center) is City-owned-and-operated, under the direction of the Cultural Affairs Department. The beautiful historic building features three floors of gallery space, a clock tower, and, added in 2006, a landscaped brick courtyard.
