quite the dramatic sunrise on tuesday.
i didn´t have the proper gear with me, when the sky went all spectacular tuesday morning, but thank god there´s always a cellphone around when you need one.
find me on
I was driving past in my car when I spotted this raccoon headed for an open garbage can at a Michigan Metropark. When I stopped and rolled down my window, he paused and stared at me for just a moment before diving into the can. Seconds later, he was on his way, making a beeline toward a nearby wooded area with a plastic garbage bag in tow. These garbage cans need lids, methinks.
I've driven past this farm so many times and thought it would make a nice picture. I planned a night where it was partly cloudy hoping for a nice sunset which I thought would add a little interest to the picture.

False Creek
View from Charleson Park towards downtown Vancouver and the BC Place Stadium
False Creek is a short inlet in the heart of Vancouver. It separates downtown from the rest of the city.
The False Creek area was the industrial heartland of Vancouver through to the 1950s. It was home to many sawmills and small port operations, as well as the western terminus of the major Canadian railways.
The BC Place Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium located at the north side of False Creek. It is the home field for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League and the Vancouver Whitecaps FC of Major League Soccer. It was the Olympic Stadium during the 2010 Winter Olympics and 2010 Paralympics.
San Franciscos yellow streetcars from the muni f-line offers a nice color accent in the market street, downtown San Francisco.
We sat a lot in this historical vehicle in order to travel from castro to downtown.

Minnehaha Falls is a must visit in the Twin Cities. Fall is an especially nice time to come with all the additional colors.
Minnehaha Falls is located located in Minneapolis Minnesota. The falls is in Minnehaha Park, a large city park on the shores of the Mississipi River. The park includes picnic areas, trails, sculpture and the 53 foot falls.
There is a bridge just above the falls, and trails that go down into the gorge on both sides, and another bridge below the falls. The trails continue along the creek.
Here's a shot of what the falls look like in the winter from behind the flow.
Grand Teton National Park is a United States National Park in northwestern Wyoming. At approximately 310,000 acres (480 sq mi; 130,000 ha; 1,300 km2), the park includes the major peaks of the 40-mile-long (64 km) Teton Range (part of the Rocky Mountains) as well as most of the northern sections of the valley known as Jackson Hole. Gulls, often referred to as seagulls, are seabirds of the family Laridae in the suborder Lari. They are most closely related to the terns (family Sternidae) and only distantly related to auks, skimmers, and more distantly to the waders. Until the 21st century, most gulls were placed in the genus Larus, but this arrangement is now known to be polyphyletic, leading to the resurrection of several genera. An older name for gulls is mew, cognate with German Möwe, Danish måge, Dutch meeuw, and French mouette; this term can still be found in certain regional dialects

Teller County 863, Victor, CO - Fall color changes came a bit early for me but I did finally make a trip into the mountains to gather some last glimpses of the beautiful yellow and orange Aspen leaves ...
PS - I've fallen behind in my efforts to keep up with your wonderful views, comments, and favorites. I'll do my best to catch up over the weekend.
Female Kingfisher (Alcedo attis). At last, after several tries, I managed to see and get some decent shots of a Kingfisher so please forgive me if I do share quite a few as I just love these stunning birds.
It was a thunderstorm photo session and after the processing session these colors fit best to the scene! Nothing todo with reality, but sometimes dreams are allowed...

She's a better writer than she is a photographer, and she's a damn fine photographer! :-)

Bonny loves chasing balls anywhere but especially on the beach!
She was born in Ireland and was originally thought to be a labrador/collie cross - but our dog trainer thinks she is a 'Heinz 57 Varieties' with some Lurcher and Staffie thrown in! Whatever she is, she is adorable!
She is now seven-and-a-half years old and as full of fun and energy as ever! Oh yes, she can also run like the wind and her trainer says she's the fastest dog he's ever seen except for a greyhound!
If you are looking for a rescue dog in the UK, please visit www.pupsneedinghomes.co.uk/ as they do such an outstanding job in rehoming unwanted dogs!
Estas terneras gallegas, son eso, todo ternura.......cuando ando por las montañas, son mi debilidad :-)

One of the most memorable dawn and sunrises I have ever seen
at Lindisfarne on our recent photography break in Northumberland...it just gave and gave.
Worth the very early start to witness.
The sun broke through for a few minutes on an otherwise dreary winter day, beautifully illuminating this male red-bellied woodpecker (Melanerpes carolinus) just after he had found a treat in a dead tree stump at Michigan's Kensington Metropark.
HCS!
Flickr friends, I am back after a break, and will be catching up with your latest images soon. I intend to begin posting more regularly again, though maybe not every day as in the past, at least for a while.
