This shot has been taken in Manarola during the blue hour, the temperature was around five degres and the waves were pretty high in the sea. The town is almost desert during winter, but always a beautiful subject to photograph.

Caves in the rocks in Matala, Heraklion, Crete

Grip is an archipelago located in the Atlantic Ocean about 14 km northwest of the city of Kristiansund, Norway. Grip has a thousand-year history as a fishing village, and has had a permanent population since the 12th century. From 1897 to 1964, Grip was its own municipality, the country's smallest both in terms of population and area. Now there are no permanent residents left on the island. One can see the top of Grip lighthouse on the left. This lighthouse is located on a reef beyond the main island.

I've had a bit of fun with the photograph to try to create a painting effect in Affinity Photo. My first attempt.

Cordillera Real, also called Cordillera Oriental, major mountain system, the easternmost of the two in Bolivia.

It extends generally north-south for about 750 miles (1,200 km) through the length of the country.

The Cordillera Real separates the lowlands of the Amazon River basin to the east from the high plateaus of the Altiplano to the west. The Cordillera Real contains within its ranges two characteristic physiographic regions, the Valles, or higher (8,200 to 11,500 feet [2,500 to 3,500 metres]) intermontane valleys, and the Yungas, or lower (3,300 to 6,600 feet [1,000 to 2,000 metres]) valleys.

From the massif of Vilcanota in the north to the pass of San Francisco in the south, the main cordillera is composed of six lesser ranges: the Cordillera de La Paz; the Cordillera Tres Cruces; two parallel ranges, the Azanaques (east) and the Frailes (west); the Chichas; and the Lípez, extending southwestward to connect the Cordillera Real with the Cordillera Occidental,

Bolivia’s other, more westerly mountain system. The Cordillera de La Paz is the highest portion of the system, with elevations ranging downward from 21,067 feet (6,421 metres) at Illampu. Aymara and Quechua Indian villages are located at the foothills of the Cordillera Real.

After extensive restoration, the 1911 Historic City Hall opened its doors as the City of Lake Charles' public art gallery and cultural facility in 2004. Since that time, Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center has showcased numerous traveling exhibitions from around the world, as well as regional and local artists. The Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center (HCH A&C Center) is City-owned-and-operated, under the direction of the Cultural Affairs Department. The beautiful historic building features three floors of gallery space, a clock tower, and, added in 2006, a landscaped brick courtyard.

Seville’s palace fortress, the Royal Alcázar, was originally a Moorish fort built in the 10th century by the first Caliph of Andalucia. One of the most spectacular rooms is the Salon de Embajadores (Hall of the Ambassadors.) Its lavishly decorated walls and archways showcase the talent of Sevillian craftsmen.

The construction of the current Alcázar began in the 14th century. It is the best example of Mudejar architecture in Spain. Mudejar style buildings were commissioned by Castilian Christian kings but also included elements of Moorish architecture. It also includes elements of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque.

There are doormen who just do their job and there are doormen who love where they work.

This man working here was the friendliest and most interested doorman I ever met over all the years I'm now photographing staircases.

Peace Bridge

Designed by Santiago Calatrava

The bridge was built by The City of Calgary to connect the southern Bow River pathway and Downtown Calgary with the northern Bow River pathway and the community of Sunnyside. This connection was designed to accommodate the increasing number of people commuting to and from work and those utilizing Calgary's pathways.

I was fascinated by the Peace Bridge and because my hotel was right behind the Shaw building I could go there anytime I wanted...:-))

SPILIMBERGO

Lac de Montriond is located in the commune of Montriond in the French Chablais region of Haute-Savoie. The lake is popular with anglers and, above all, with walkers and hikers.

Lake Montriond was created when part of the Nantaux mountain to the north-west collapsed. This geological event, which has not been dated with any certainty (between 4,500 years and 3 or 4 centuries!), caused a dam to form on the torrent that ran along the bottom of the valley, hence the formation of the lake.
