Shot this for the abstract theme for a local photography group. I was off yesterday so I thought I'd screw around heehee! Have a nice day everyone! :o)
Hydra, built in the shape of an amphitheatre on a slope overlooking the Argosaronic gulf, is one of the most romantic destinations in Greece. Traditional stone mansions, narrow cobblestoned streets, secluded squares and above all the banning of cars and the use of around 500 donkeys as means of public transportation, explain the reason why Hydra preserved its distinctive atmosphere through the passage of time.

Era il 29 ottobre 2018 quando una mareggiata senza precedenti distruggeva la strada per raggiungere uno dei gioielli d'Italia, Portofino.
Ma se c'è un aspetto della Liguria ad essere diventato palese lo scorso anno è la sua capacità di rialzarsi e risorgere più forte di prima.
Il borgo infatti si sta preparando alla riapertura della strada che lo collega a Santa Margherita in tempo perfetto per la Pasqua, festività che, da sempre, segna l'inizio della stagione turistica.

Herr Winter gibt gerade ein wahrscheinlich recht kurzes Gastspiel hier bei uns. Das Bühnenbild, die Wallfahrtskirche auf den knapp 500m hohen Kreuzberg in Schmidmühlen, Oberpfalz, Bayern.
Beeilung ist geboten. Es stehen nur mehr für eine sehr begrenzte Zeit eine sehr überschaubare Anzahl an Eintrittskarten an der Tageskasse zur Verfügung. ;-)

I felt sorry for this lion tamarin, knowing it would rather be in its home range of Bahia, Brazil, but that habitat has been steadily disappearing, cleared for agriculture, mining and other human endeavors. So, it's this small cubicle (or, possibly nothing) for this particular Golden-headed Lion Tamarin, seen at the Toledo Zoo, Toledo, Ohio.

Zur Geschichte der Bockwindmühle Wettmar
Im 17. Jh. gab es 8 Windmühlen in der Vogtei Burgwedel
Ende 19. Jh. zusammen mit der Gemeinde Isernhagen 24 Windmühlen
1585 wurde die Bockwindmühle erstmalig urkundlich erwähnt
der Standort lag auf dem Nordberg in Wettmar
der "Hausbaum" der Mühle wurde 1584 gefällt, das Alter des Baumes betrug zur Zeit der Fällung ca. 200 Jahre, insgesamt ist er 630 Jahre alt
1794 ist eine Erneuerung der Mühle dokumentiert: Inschrift am "Hammer"
1861 wurde eine weitere Renovierung durchgeführt: Jahreszahl als Inschrift an einem Balken im Innern der Mühle, jetzt sichtbar außen an einer Kreuzschwelle
Betrieb der Mühle ist durchgängi bis ins 20. Jh. nachgewiesen
1905 erfolgte der Bau eines Müllerhauses und Erweiterung mit einem Verbrennungsmotor zum Einsatz bei Windmangel; zwei Segelflügel wurden durch Jalousieflügel ersetzt
ab 1940 wurde sie nicht mehr gewerblich genutzt
1947 fand ein Umbau zur Jagdhütte statt mit teilw. Ausbau der Mühlentechnik

Es haben sich in der Höhle mehr als 8000 Buddhastatuen angesammelt. Die ältesten stammen aus dem 18. Jahrhundert, und neue Votivgaben kommen bis heute hinzu. Wissenschaftler drängen auf die Aufnahme der Stätte in die UNESCO-Liste des Weltkulturerbes.
Die Kalkstein-Höhlen befinden sich in einem Höhenzug bei der Stadt Pindaya. Auf dem in Nord-Süd-Richtung verlaufenden Grat befinden sich drei Höhlen, aber nur die südliche Höhle kann betreten und erforscht werden. Es ist nicht bekannt, ob die beiden anderen über eine längere Strecke in den Hang eindringen. Die Höhlen sind über einen gedeckten Treppenaufgang zugänglich. Ausgehend von der geräumigen Eingangshalle führt ein Netz von Gängen tief in den Berg. Die Wände der kleinen Hallen und der Gänge sind bedeckt mit meistens vergoldeten Buddhastatuen aus verschiedenen Materialien und in unterschiedlichen Größen.
The Pindaya Caves are a Buddhist pilgrimage site and a tourist attraction located on a limestone ridge in the Myelat region. The area is part of the ancestral homeland of the Danu people. There are three caves on the ridge which runs north-south, but only the southern cave can be entered and explored. It is not known whether the other two penetrate for any extended distance into the hillside. Scholars have been pushing for the site's inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Kompong Phluk, en el Lago Tonlé Sap, es un poblado camboyano que vive literalmente en el agua. Las viviendas están construidas sobre postes y la circulación por las "calles" tiene que hacerse, forzosamente, en barca.
