Roughly translated as "waterfall of the gods", Goðafoss is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland. The water of the river Skjálfandafljót falls from a height of 12 meters over a width of 30 meters. Truly remarkable!

¿Quién no ha soplado alguna vez una bola de semillas del diente de león y las ha visto alejarse? Cada una de ellas incorpora un característico penacho de filamentos, llamado vilano o papus, que a modo de paracaídas las ayuda a mantenerse en el aire y dispersarse. Este vilano ayuda a ralentizar el descenso de la semilla, lo que favorece que los vientos la transporten más lejos, además de orientarla hacia el suelo según va cayendo.
En la cultura colectiva, soplar una flor de diente de león seca es una costumbre común para pedir un deseo. Algunos ponen condiciones para que se cumpla, como por ejemplo cerrar los ojos, repetir el deseo en la mente tantas veces cómo la hora del día que sea, o gritarlo al viento.
Sobre su origen, las leyendas cuentan que un ermitaño encontró una olla de monedas de oro a los pies del arcoíris. El hallazgo despertó la avaricia que anidaba en el fondo de su alma y temeroso de que le robaran el tesoro, metió las monedas en un saco y se acostó pensando en un lugar dónde esconderlas.
En el silencio de la noche, un hambriento ratoncillo salió de su madriguera, y, al ver el saco, empezó a roerlo convencido de que en su interior encontraría un festín. Desilusionado por las monedas, se fue en busca de comida.
Al día siguiente, el ermitaño cogió el saco y se fue hasta el lugar que había elegido para esconder las monedas. No se dio cuenta de que, por el agujero que había hecho el ratón, caían poco a poco las monedas. Al llegar al lugar adecuado, la mayoría de las monedas ya no estaban. Frustrado y lleno de rabia, el ermitaño, tras esconder las que le quedaban, volvió sobre sus pasos buscando las monedas caídas. No encontró ninguna. Los duendes habían hecho crecer flores de dientes de león en un intento de compartir la alegría del tesoro. Quienes pasaban por allí, quedaban admirados por la belleza de las flores; incluso, cuando se secaron, las soplaban llenos de alegría, repartiendo ese mismo júbilo con las nuevas flores que crecían de las semillas esparcidas.

Clun Castle sits high on a natural rocky mound in a loop of the river Clun, on the edge of the small, picturesque town of the same name. Founded shortly after the Norman Conquest to demonstrate the authority of the English monarchy over this part of the border region, the castle and the nearby settlement prospered in the 13th century thanks to the management of the Fitzalan family, but suffered a number of attacks from across the Welsh border. It was used as a hunting lodge in the 14th century, but was increasingly neglected, and by 1539 the castle was reported as ruinous.
