“With the Mercedes-Benz Concept EQA, our electric initiative is gathering pace: by 2022 Mercedes-Benz Cars will have more than ten all-electric vehicles on the market,” stated Dr Dieter Zetsche, CEO of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars. Featuring one electric motor at the front axle and one at the rear, the electric athlete has a system output of over 200 kW. The drive characteristics can be altered by varying the permanent all-wheel drive's front to rear torque distribution. The Concept EQA shows which program has been selected on a unique virtual radiator grille.

Electrified horses gallop fast and silent when they’re running, ripping 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 secs, they don’t even hear me when I’m coming.
Long, low, and wide, a storm is on the way. It won’t make a sound, but you’ll immediately feel the wrath of the 2022 Audi RS e-tron GT when you hit it. Performance resonates from 590-horsepower (637 in Boost Mode), 612 lb-ft of torque, quattro AWD, and an adaptive air suspension. A carbon-fiber roof, carbon-fiber mirrors, a carbon-fiber rear diffuser, and front air inlets add to the magnetism of our Tango Red Metallic high-performance electric Gran Turismo. Pricing starts at $99,900 for the e-Tron GT and $139,900 for the RS e-Tron GT. A potential federal tax credit equals $7,500.
1991 - die Einführung des Katalysators in Serienfahrzeugen und der Kinofilm "Zurück in die Zukunft" liegen gerade einmal sechs Jahre zurück - summt der Golf II "City Stromer" beinahe lautlos durch die damalige Gegenwart. Ein alltagstauglicher Versuchsträger mit künftig selbstverständlichen Antriebsgenen, dessen Kleinserie jedoch zunächst den großen Energieerzeugern vorbehalten sein soll. In private Hände geraten die nur 120 gebauten "City Stromer" erst nach dem Ende ihrer offiziellen Einsätze. Die 27 PS des Drehstrom-Synchronmotors beschleunigen das Auto auf völlig ausreichende 100 km/h, "getankt" wird über Nacht an der Steckdose. Danach geht es wieder auf die Straße, 40 bis 70 Kilometer Reichweite schafft der "Stromer", je nach Witterung und Einsatzgebiet. Das gefällt selbst im Hier und Jetzt.

The BMW E1 was showcased at the 1991 International Motor Show : it was the first fully fledged car of more recent times that was originally designed to run solely on electric power. Developed as a prototype by BMW Technik GmbH, the E1 demonstrated that it was possible to build a fully dedicated electric car. It also served as an innovation platform and provided valuable insights for the further development of electromobility.

Harrods’ fleet of electric delivery vehicles were once a familiar sight on the streets of London. The famous department store started using American-built Walker electric vans in 1919. During the 1930s Harrods renewed the fleet, undertaking the design and construction in its own workshops. Work started in 1933 and a prototype van was running by 1935. A total of sixty vans were built up to 1939. The 1 ton vans were powered by under-floor mounted batteries giving a range of sixty miles per charge. This van remained in service until 1970 when it was presented to the Museum.
Battery-powered electric vehicles have been in use since the very earliest days of motoring. Being silent and pollution-free they are ideally suited to use as delivery vehicles in urban areas, where short distances mean their lack of battery range is less of a problem.

This car is one of a few Renault 5 GTLs which were converted to electric power in 2022 to celebrate the model’s 50th anniversary, and also to be used as official shuttles at the Roland Garros tennis tournament, with which Renault had just signed a partnership agreement. Homologated for use on the road, the R-Fit technology used for this conversion is unique in that it adheres as closely as possible to the original specification of the Renault 5. The car thus retains its original suspension and steering, as well as its clutch and gearbox, so maintaining the impression of driving ‘the old-fashioned way’. The battery is located at the rear and the motor develops around 30bhp, providing a range of about 80km. The kit is sold by the Méhari Club de Cassis and offers the significant advantage of being homologated in France specifically for the Renault 5.
This example is a three-door GTL, which, like the other cars in the series, was given a special finish by Renault Design. Completely restored, it has superb sparkling green paintwork with a double white coachline accentuating the beltline, as well as the official Roland Garros logos and the name of this special series, ‘electro popline’. Inside, the dashboard has been repainted and it has special upholstery in white wool, which has even been used to trim the door cards, sun visors and headlining, with the backs of the seats in a silvery cloth and lovely white carpets. Under the bonnet, there is a badge marked ‘Renault 5, 50’ attached to the electric motor.
This car has the advantage of combining the charm of a Renault 5 GTL in perfect condition with that of a zero-emission EV homologated for use on the road.
One of the new H2 buses on route RV1, spotted in Catherine Street WC2 on Saturday 19 March. Waited to see it set off back to Tower Gateway, and it really was quick and quiet. I was impressed. Kudos to Canada's Ballard, who make the fuel cell stack. But the 'zero emission' slogan on the bus side is only half a story imho, since it glosses over CO2 emissions as part of H2 feedstock production.
euronomad stands to be corrected, but very much doubts that the production process for the gas currently supplied by the refuelling plant in Leyton is CO2 neutral or anything like it. Operators - or for that matter deputy mayors - shouldn't be talking to Londoners just about ZEVs, but about the total energy supply chain and the green accounting that goes with it. We weren't all born yesterday.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Twingo in 2023, Renault planned several operations, including the creation of a number of show cars based on Twingos converted to run on electric power, using the EV kit developed by R-Fit. These kept the original gearbox, but in place of the four-cylinder petrol engine, they were fitted with an electric motor, batteries and all the controls necessary for a set-up of this type. They are, however, prototypes which were granted individual vehicle approval and cannot in any way be registered for road use by a new owner.
This Twingo is one of these specially built vehicles. Inspired by the ‘boy band’ culture of the 1990s and 2000s, it applies the codes of the Y2K aesthetic, a name derived from the acronym for ‘Year 2K’ or ‘Year 2000’, attributed to the programmer David Eddy in reference to the year 2000 bug. In response to this retro-futuristic movement, this Twingo has a predominantly turquoise colour scheme, translucent elements such as the gear lever gaiter, computer typography for the Twingo logos, and seats and door cards covered in a shiny grey trim suggestive of a spacesuit ... Fitted with a transparent sunroof, this extremely original Twingo prototype stands out superbly from all the mass-produced examples.
