Based on a late 17th century French fabric design. Mulhouse refers to the area of France where the designs were discovered. I've created the steps - hope they're easy to replicate :)
Just added color with pastels & colored pencils... A GREATFUL THANK YOU, FOR ALL OF YOUR KIND COMMENTS ... I ALWAYS APPRECIATE EACH & EVERYONE OF THEM & TRUELY WISH I HAD THE TIME TO THANK EACH ONE OF YOU PERSONALLY ... :)
Pattern inspired by a holiday ornament that hangs on our Christmas tree. You can download this pattern worksheet from my blog at: rainbowelephant.com and see the how-to video as well.
Another pattern based on curly brackets. Try stopping the pattern at either step 3 or 4 for a less busy effect.

This one took a little time to deconstruct as well! Another Victorian tile floor design was the inspiration for this adaptation to tangle pattern.
An original pattern born from doodles while running in a new fountain pen. I've used the pen for the black lines and can now recommend Noodler's Bulletproof Black Ink and a medium nib fountain pen for zentangling. Just be sure to beware of smudging...

I colorized this one using PSE. Really liked how it turned out! :)
I expect the fact that I have started to draw and doodle again is an indicator of my stress level. We are going to have folks in to finish our tiling, since my knee is just not going to let me do it. The chaos has already started because all my cool collectibles and breakables have once again got to be packed away and moved out of the "war zone." Daunting, to say the least . . .
Well now that I'm looking at this here, it's really not very much in the way of a tangle ... just having fun! ... will make sure the next one has tangles in it ... what was I thinking! I love anything to do with fairie's so guess I just got carried away! ... 8 1/2 x 5 in. Prisma markers & prisma colored pencils ... Derwent inktense, colour soft & metallic colored pencils ... Galaxy Milky way white marker, white jellyroll pen ... and metallic & glitter ballpoint pens ... too bad none of the sparkle shows up in the scans! Oh well! ... Off to do the dinner dishes that have been waitng before I start another piece, can't remember a challenge that I've enjoyed quite so much! :)
A fancy Victorian wall tile design, this time by the interior designer Richardson. Looks good as a single motif, but should pattern up nicely.
Inspired by the great antiques expert and TV presenter Tim Wonnacott (amongst many other dickie bow wearers), here's 'Dickies'.

Step out to Maddie.
A pattern I came up with while talking on the phone at work.
It's fairly simple pattern with loads of potential for embellishments.
I haven't tried it in a grid and I'm sure it would work.
I have however tried it in a bit of an organic way, which also works.
Shading will give it dimension and depth.
I do hope you like it enough to try it.

Finished this little mandala after dinner tonight, sitting in a rocking chair in the living room of a 180 year old house by the ocean in #Newfoundland, listening to old stories, drinking wine and having a laugh...such a great way to spend a vacation! ☺️❤
This is yet another southwestern American Indian inspired tangle pattern. Similar to 'Lace', but I think tidier and more uniform. Depends on what you want it for!
I've been inspired by Art Nouveau patterns this week. The arches frame the tangle pattern 'Grass' nicely.

A pattern I came up with some time ago and have just realised I haven't added to my 'Pattern' set :)
I developed this tangle pattern playing with ways of connecting corners of a set of squares in a grid. The name comes from combining Flowers with Squares.

A quick and simple filler pattern, ideal for a bit of colour as well. Developed from the vertical line doodles and filling in the white space.

I think this one is a bit of a retro pattern, but the steps are all mine. It could almost be Curly Braces Five!

Playing around in my sketchbook again, getting some ideas flowing for a larger piece! ;) :)

I picked up a sharpie and thought it was black. Turned out to be purple so I just continued. I like the purple better than the blue. I obviously still have swirls and flowers stuck in my head, so I thought I would share this. this photo doesn't do this justice. It's actually a really vibrant purple, but for some reason it's showing a little faded here. Probably just my lighting.
