Found some little white card board frames & was going to do a 3D style pic with the scrap book dots that raise pieces off of the page ... LOST MY DOTS! ... so not the look I was going for, but it is a little different ... I've got alot of projects ( plus my Honey do list ) going right now ... so trying to keep my tangles simple! ... This is 6x6 with small insert piece ( forgot to measure) done all with Kuretake zig writers. :)

Hi everyone! Seems like forever sinse I've been able to post! Have missed you all & your wonderful work like crazy! Did this up late last nite to use as a card front in the line of Greeting cards that I've been working on & off for awhile now ... Titled - " Wood Weaving " 5x5, done with Kuretake Writers & Derwent colored pencils. ... Hope you all have a safe, healthy, prosperous & Happy New Year! Big smiles & hugs! :)

I was working on this piece and decided to incorporate the Diva's challenge, using the tangle, Copada by Margaret Bremner. It's here in a few places. I've had a busy summer, so I haven't been able to post anything new in a while. Enjoy....

Pen in my art journal!

When this challenge was announced I quickly sketched this Quib and wasn't happy with it and not too original in my eyes. I've had a bad back this week so the only thing to do is tangle away. Tonight I added the rest of the tangles and this is how it panned out. I don't mind Quib so much now, but of course a water scene immediately came to mind and that's why I wanted to do something else as in my first entry - Girl with Quib hair.

Thanks for looking :)

12x12 scrapbook paper, Artist Loft Markers and ZIG fine point pen

I really like this design and may try to decoupage it onto a nicely shaped piece of black walnut wood that my hubby has been saving for me for crafting.

Check out the how-to video and grab this pattern worksheet from my blog at rainbowelephant.com

Inspired by an art deco brick wall, this pattern zings with a touch of shading. The original wall was of blue brick with the brick cluster deepset into the brickwork.

I made some time to do a piece for this week's Diva Challenge. This week we are to only use 2 tangles - they are Pea-nuckle and Well. At first I thought it a very strange combination and didn't see how these two tangles would gel. I decided to do 'Well' not so rigid and without it being in a grid, although I love grid patterns and I have a liking for Well too. As for 'Pea-nuckle', I don't remember the last time I have used it - it's not a favourite of mine as I can't seem to make it flow naturally. So between the rigid Pea-nuckle and the gridless Well, I think it came together and I am very happy with the outcome.

Thanks for your visit - have a lovely week and Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends celebrating the day. :)

Oh, I fiddled around and photo edited some too. It's fun seeing what I come up with - of course nothing beats the original in black and white. Let me know what you think :)

And after all that, I'm having problems uploading pics on my Blog so I will link it via Flickr. Oh well!

Step by Step pattern 'X'

was trying to work out a simpler way of drawing my pattern 'X'

what I discovered was it does not have to be in the round and I think it lends itself beautifully to squares or rectangles.

For me, the most difficult part was the shading!! grrr!! :))

I would love to see your creations :)

"Tree of Zentangle"

My hubby loves this one and has "commissioned" me to make him a tree filled with just different types of birds.

12x12 scrapbook paper, Artist Loft markers, glitter gel pens, black fineliners, colored pencils

Not my tangle!! just my "steps" for "shiny" stripes that a couple of you commented on.

You will notice some pencil guidelines in the second example, I dont always do this, but it does give a more consistent and realistic result.

The key thing is the 'scribbly' lines, and add that extra bit of (pen) shading for added dimension

Another way of drawing pattern 'X'

It may be somewhat a little easier :)

sorry the pic is not very good

I hope you give it a try and I would love to see whay you come up with :)

Thanks for looking :)

This is a simple tangle pattern, that may be similar to others out there, but was based on a late 17th century French pattern design from the Lyons area. I've developed the steps to reproduce it.

Just had to pop in & say " Hi " ... Hope you are all well & happy ... had to leave a few hearts for all of you today ... I seem to have left part of my heart here in this group, even with all that is going on in my life, I think about all of you & miss the interaction dearly ... thanks for all of the support & well wishes for myself & my family, you have no idea how much it means to me ... don't know when I will be back on a regular basis but for now ... I send my love to all of you on this Valentines day :)

And I have a quick how-to video there as well. Enjoy!

I think this one is reminiscent of woodcut patterns... or neatly lined up mussels.

All my tangle patterns, and five others unpublished here, are available on my blog, perfectly4med.wordpress.com.

I bought myself a small Moleskine book just ot try it out. One of my first pieces

This is an original design, named with the Latin word from which the word 'flower' is derived.

All my tangle patterns are available at my blog perfectly4med.wordpress.com

So simple I'm sure someone else has done it already... Lots of variations possible on this one, two of which I've popped on the pattern for your consideration.

All my tangle patterns are also available at my blog perfectly4med.wordpress.com

Based on a late 17th century French fabric design. Mulhouse refers to the area of France where the designs were discovered. I've created the steps - hope they're easy to replicate :)

Hi everyone! ... It's " Doodle Mania " on the Kuretake Blogspot this month ... this is my piece for the challenge. I used Kuretake Zig Writers, Zig Calligraphy, Zig Millennium & Zig Writer Chalk Pastel Colours pens to create this piece ... Stop by the blog ... the interview & pieces I did for Kuretake last yr. will be featured this month :)

This is what happens sometimes when you hit the enhance button in my very old photo program, just one little push of a button changes everything ... I don't always use it & even when I do , it does'nt always bump or change the colors up this much! I thought ... yikes this is so bright , but I'm a sucker for purple! ... Sooo here it is! :)

You can see the how-to video and pick up this worksheet at my blog: rainbowelephant.com

I tell the story about how this pattern came to be and offer another drawing method on my blog.

You can also see a short little how-to video tutorial and download this pattern sheet from my blog at as well.

After I posted this yesterday I looked at it & it did'nt seem to easy to follow the way I showed it so .... I thought this might be a little better to see the steps. :)

fun with a couple patterns I have enjoyed doing

Let me know if this suits your needs. I have not done one of these before

Hi Everyone ... working on new flower patterns today & decided to post this one, before I sat it aside & forgot about it ... Fast & easy ... can add stems & leaves if you want or just tuck the buds into a tangle anywhere ... use it plain or tweek it with shading & a curl to a petal here & there ... Had to squeeze to get all three pieces in, looks pretty messy , but I'm sure you'll pick it up anyway if you want to. :)

This one has taken me about a month or more to do and it's still not finished. Losing my interest in coloring it (I think too much about it)

This one came along when I was doing one of the Tangle Pattern Strings and the Christmas season was coming up.

Charris reminded me of Angels on a string. (see link below)

I decided to call the pattern 'Charris' - named after our 2 Jack Russels (Charlie and Harris) who are sadly no longer with us :(

Here is an example of a variation - this is the one that looks like Angels.
