Hearts on my mind lately with Valentine's Day just around the corner.
Pink Gel Pen
Thanks for looking.
had a page in my journal that was calling me to finish - it would have been much nicer if my brand new bronze gel pen lasted longer than a couple of minutes... so i finished the piece with a sprinkling of gold ...not quite the effect i wanted.
This is the end result of a work in progress I've had going on for several months. It's been on my desk at work and I've been adding to it whenever I've been on the phone. The size of the paper is A3 and I used Uniball gel pens in black, blue and red. I do have a pic of it whilst still in progress, somewhere in my photostream - it would be in my set 'My Zentangle Inspired Art if you wanted to check it out. www.flickr.com/photos/lillypop12/8081278158/in/set-721576...
If you look closely you can see all the scribbles and notes (and a coffee stain ;-p) I have drawn over. I use the paper to jot things down and then I decided to make good use of it and be more productive :)
I hope you like it and of course, as always your comments are welcome.
I have now started another one and I'm going to try to remember to take pictures as I go.
Thanks for taking the time to look :))
Not sure if this is strictly zentangle, as I spent some time planning and doing the basic form with pencil, but I wanted to play with shading, which I feel was quite successful. As with my other work, you gain a great perspective when looking at work on a screen.
I enjoy doing these Monotangle Adventures as it makes me think of ways to expand on the basic tangle.
I used Sandra Strait's tutorial on Semi-transparency to give it a different spin - mine are not as good as hers though :) tanglepatterns.com/2011/05/guest-contributor-sandra-strai...

Thank you for visiting :)
looks like I used a Navy coloured pen - so I went along with it and framed it in Navy...thanks for looking :)
I wanted to do something different with the tangle 'Zinger'. Today was our monthly finance meeting and I was fiddling around with the tangle and as I did a robot appeared, so I took that idea to my sketchbook and this is what I came up with. I used Nipa in the background, then wish I hadn't as my little robots got lost, so to make them stand out a bit more I added some colour.
I have seen this tangle many a time, however it's the first time I've used it and it was only in the last couple of weeks that I tried 'Lampions' - I call it the cousin of Zinger - the bigger cousin lol
it can be seen here: www.flickr.com/photos/lillypop12/8172209358/in/photostream/
