I was trying to describe to someone how increasing the line thickness makes the area appear immediately more shaded, and the thinner lines less shaded. Thought I'd try and draw some examples.
Sometimes I don't get a good pic because of the glare, so I added dark edges to take away the glare.
The tangle at the bottom and top left is called 'Potted Plant by Texasdoxiemama (Linda Rea) - thank you Linda - this one is cool! :))
A return to my former zendoodle style of pen and ink work - a refreshing break from the patterned zentangling.
I just bought my twin grandsons ( 11 yrs. old ) Suzanne McNeills book Zentangle Basics ( the 4th time I've bought this book to give to family I wanted to introduce to Zentangles) ... I had the boys drawing with me when they were just babie's ... sad to say we have a long distance relationship, they live in Montana now ... but they still love to draw so I'm making up a box to send them with Suzanne's book & all the pens, papers/tiles, colored pencils & such that they will need to make the journey into Zentangle land! I'm going to try to slip pieces of my work in between all of the pages, so they will really get something personal from Gramma. :)
Step by Step pattern 'X'
was trying to work out a simpler way of drawing my pattern 'X'
what I discovered was it does not have to be in the round and I think it lends itself beautifully to squares or rectangles.
I would love to see your creations :)
Thanks for looking.
These are the zen dodles made by Mabi, my sister: she is a ceramist and I
have discovered that she is going to make ceramic plates full of
zendoodles!! I am so curious to see her work!
Anche Maria Bruna scarabocchia: che sorpres! E presto realizzerà i suoi piatti in ceramica con gli scarabocchi zen!!! Sono cuiriosa di vederli!!
I started this birthday card several months ago ( I drew the cat and then put it away) and then I couldn't remember where I put it. Seeing as I needed it this week I decided to search more thoroughly. The background is a version of 'X-glass' out of Sandy Bartholemew's Book, Yoga for your Brain. Thanks for looking :)
Doodled ATC featuring my tangled design I call Round-Peg Square. Inspired from the phrase "fitting a round peg into a square hole."
You can download the pattern worksheet and see more examples on my blog.
5.5 x 8.5 with Micron sepia pen. Did this one while keeping an eye on all the tornado warnings here today.
I love working with concentric lined tangles. I feel inspired each time I work with them. Combines Isochor, Tipple, and Indyrella Zentangles.
it's so hard for me to get away from structure - I don't do organic and Zendala's well at all.... I just can't see it. And then I see so many wonderful Zendalas from my fellow tanglers and I am in awe of their beautiful tiles. If you too would like to see them, please click here thebrightowl.blogspot.ca/
this one is on olive green cardstock (the largest template)
Trying out some new patterns Paushalov and Tesali, which I love!! I added Maddie to see how it would look against other tangles and then there's Fescu, Zinger and Pais for some softness.
I've used black signo gel pen and different thicknesses of Faber Castell in sanguine colour.
Enjoy :)
Here is my interpretation for this week's challenge with the Diva (iamthedivaczt.blogspot.com.au/ )
I don't like snakes, so this is the closest thing I could think of, that would still work for the challenge and not give me the shivers :) Can you see '2013'?
thanks for looking:)
