mindful-creations.blogspot.com.au/ with Roy - thanks for coming up with these weekly challenges - it surely makes me think how to make an interesting piece using only 1 tangle :)
This weeks Monotangle challenge is to use 'Onomato'. I thought Monotangles would be easy lol, no way Jose! I find them challenging as you are more confined, as you are only to use the ONE tangle. So, in order to add some further interest I digitally enhanced this one. I don't think it's cheating, is it? it is hand drawn with some colour and special effects added - anyhow I got caught up with trying various looks. I really like it and hope you do too :)
thanks for looking :)
comments are most welcome
This is my second entry in Erin's Monodala. This one uses the pattern 'IXORUS'. I have taken progress photos of the Zendala if you wish to view. This took me a while to do, was very intricate as there is very little space in some of the sections of the template.... oh well! once you start you just can't stop :) Enjoy and thanks for looking. www.thebrightowl.com
I've gone star crazy this year and the beauty of them is I'm going to use them as gift tags - and it doesn't have to be Christmas :)
Part of my experimenting with Zentangle and the floral form in my Fantasy Floral Series. I love the graphic and organic forms from nature coming together. Zentangles used: Finery, Perfs, Purk, Striping, Knights Bridge and some ad lib with cross hatching
I couldn't scan both and then separate them, so I was stuck with them being together.
As you can see there wasn't enough room between each zentangle to get the edit square around one.
Accomplished this one for the "London 2012" challenge at LineWeaving.com posted by JaneyB.
Each ring represents a ring in the Olympics symbol and the colored element in each ring represents the fire of passion that burns inside the heart and soul of each athlete participating in the games.

Monodala = Zendala using one pattern - for my first dare I decided to use one of my favourite Zentangle patterns called Buttercup. To check out some other entries please visit Erin over at www.thebrightowl.com
