My sister gave me this years ago during a rough patch and I still love it. Probably one of my most treasured items. It makes for an apt macro study.
Many of us often worry about life. We want a safe place, security and if possible guarantee about almost everything.
Jesus gives us the His teachings below, c.f : Matthew 6.

25 I tell you not to worry about your life. Don’t worry about having something to eat, drink, or wear. Isn’t life more than food or clothing? 26 Look at the birds in the sky! They don’t plant or harvest. They don’t even store grain in barns. Yet your Father in heaven takes care of them. Aren’t you worth more than birds?
27 Can worry make you live longer?[e] 28 Why worry about clothes? Look how the wild flowers grow. They don’t work hard to make their clothes. 29 But I tell you that Solomon with all his wealth[f] wasn’t as well clothed as one of them. 30 God gives such beauty to everything that grows in the fields, even though it is here today and thrown into a fire tomorrow. He will surely do even more for you! Why do you have such little faith?
31 Don’t worry and ask yourselves, “Will we have anything to eat? Will we have anything to drink? Will we have any clothes to wear?” 32 Only people who don’t know God are always worrying about such things. Your Father in heaven knows that you need all of these. 33 But more than anything else, put God’s work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well.

So it has been aaages since my last uploads, and now I look back on them I'm not too chuffed with them, haha.
I’m starting out on my new uni project, which so far is quite hard to explain. Basically, I have been very inspired by the work of Trent Parke, Daido Moriyama and Michael Ackerman (all AMAZING photographers - I heavily advise everyone to check them out), and so the base of my project is to shoot using a similar style and technique, very high contrast black and white, and very noisy/grainy.
For this project I have been shooting some film but I haven’t had a chance to develop it yet, however I purchased a Fuji X10 (beeaautiful camera) and I think I will be shooting the whole project on this as I can take as many photos as I like without worrying about the cost of film!
so, the project is basically a series of random moments in my life - photographs of any aesthetics that my eye is drawn to. The hope is that some kind of pattern will emerge, and to do this I need to shoot shoot shoot. So expect a lot of grainy photos to start appearing!
Oh & if you have any opinions (good or bad) I would love to know!

A man worried constantly about everything. Then one day his friends heard him whistling happily and looking noticeably relaxed. “What happened?” they asked him in astonishment.
He said, “I’m paying a man to do my worrying for me.”
“How much do you pay him?” they asked.
“Two thousand dollars a week,” he replied.
“Wow! How can you afford that?”
“I can’t,” he said, “but that’s his worry.”
While this humorous way to handle stress doesn’t work in real life, as God’s children we can turn our worries over to Someone who has everything perfectly under control even—especially—when we feel it is not.
The prophet Isaiah reminds us that God brings out the stars and calls them all by name (40:25-26). Because of “his great power and mighty strength” not one of them is missing (v. 26). And just as God knows the stars by name, He knows us individually and personally. We are each under His watchful care (v. 27).
If we are inclined to worry, we can turn that worry over to the Lord. He is never too weary or too tired to pay attention to us. He has all wisdom and all power, and He loves to use it on our behalf. The Holy One who directs the stars has His loving arms around us.
Lord, You know there are times when I get really scared. And I forget that You have promised that You will never leave me to face difficulty or loss alone. Help me to trust.
Worry ends where faith begins.
At World Market & found these little dolls that come in a tiny box. They're Guatemalan Worry People and you tell them your worries, put them under your pillow at night and when you wake up they would have taken your worries away...at least that's what the paper inside the box said.

Just before I laid my head on my pillow I had the urge to add to my "nightstand series,". I photographed all sorts of stuff but was unsatisfied. Having seen a few interesting photos of Bible's open on a nightstand I though I'd give that a try. I dusted off my Bible, opened it about midway, and put my eye to the viewfinder. The first thing that came into focus as I turned the focus ring was "Do Not Worry." I found that interesting because I have been worrying a lot about the current financial crisis and how it has been eroding the job market. I have a stable job as a postdoc, but I am looking to get out academia and into the industrial job market. I guess I'll be patient and thankful for what I have.

I THINK WE HAVE TO LIVE EACH MOMENT AS MUCH AS WE CAN AND NOT WORRY ABOUT SIMPLE THINGS.
