Claudia is taking a rest on the edge of my worktable. I’ve just finished the paniers. You may see the opening in the top of the paniers for the pockets.
That print on the wall is a poster that came with the liner notes for the vinyl copy of The Postal Service's album Give Up.
It's the cover art that Kozyndan (totally heart them) drew for the single "The District Sleeps Tonight" and I love it to bits and pieces because it basically mirrors my room. My bed is against the same wall with one nightstand on the same side. I've got tote bags hung about randomly and one long worktable with my sewing machine on it.
And yes, sometimes my room has me on the ground with a box of kleenex and my glasses off on the floor beside me, too.

This oblique view interprets Azurmendi’s seed collection as both scientific archive and architectural promenade. Hundreds of slender glass tubes extend along two timber shelves, each specimen individually labeled and sealed beneath a cork stopper. Their repetition creates a measured rhythm that recedes toward the left, turning seeds—normally small, irregular, and easily overlooked—into the building’s most insistent visual system.
The 4.4mm smartphone lens amplifies the display’s length and places the nearest tubes almost within reach. Rather than photographing the collection frontally, the camera stands close to one end and looks sharply along it. That choice converts the shelves into converging lines and makes movement through the corridor central to the image. Concrete columns, glazed partitions, skylights, and exposed services remain visible beyond, situating the archive within Azurmendi’s greenhouse-like sustainability infrastructure.
At f/1.8, 1/734 second, and ISO 55, abundant daylight keeps the scene crisp while allowing cool reflections to multiply across the glass. Warm timber supports and cork closures contrast with the blue-green cast of the surrounding enclosure. Through the transparent wall, rough stools and worktables suggest research, teaching, and exchange rather than static display. The photograph frames biodiversity as something spatially curated: collected, named, protected, and placed directly in the guest’s path. At Azurmendi, ecological responsibility is not concealed behind restaurant operations; it becomes part of the architecture through which the culinary experience is understood.

This worktable embodies the inspired moment of the early 1880s when international exoticism was grafted onto historical European forms to create something altogether new, with graceful proportions, artistic flair, and ornamentation at once luxurious and restrained. Constructed of purpleheart, the imported exotic wood that Schastey favored, its splayed legs and skirt exhibit a shimmering inlaid patterning of brass, pewter, and mother-of-pearl, which creates a scale-like design indebted to Asian and Near Eastern sources. This distinctive use of patterned inlaid metalwork is found in other examples of Schastey’s oeuvre. Beautiful and functional, the table’s top sides lift up to reveal satinwood interiors and the long central drawer pulls out to display a sewing box covered and lined in silk velvet.

This one of a series of books made from the paper I place on my worktable. They form a diary of marks related to the period of time they are in place. Some have dates, this one does not. The paper here is a commercially bought handmade paper, the front nad back covers have been coated in beeswax to give them some strength.
This particular book was produced in 2012 whilst preparing for my Painting with Natural Dyes workshop.
It has a tape binding, so all pages will open flat, the tape used is naturally dyed silk which has been waxed to the cover to secure it.
This book can either be left as an artist's book or you can enter into a collaboration with me
by working into the pages

Found a great worktable that I can attach my Foredom flexshaft too and have everything right there. Of course the drawers are packed and there is stuff underneath :)
Whatever the type of milling machines, all of the different types has the same features: interface columns, knees, saddle, worktable, spindle, arbor and machine tool. The interface is the information sources of the machine. It also is the place where CAD-related data can be downloaded. This allows for instructions to make the desired form. The column is the primary support, with a base that has the spindle attached to hold the arbor. The ram is adjustable and can slide between two positions, expanding its motion along the X and Y Axis. remember how clean my beautiful 9.5 ft. table was? Not anymore. This is all the mystery project in progress. For me, it's really organized, because it's not layers of different projects over time, but only one big one happening right now. :-> Everything here is relevant.
Here are all four of the legs, taken to the same state of completion, and laid out on the floor, where I have put masking tape to indicate position, as per one of the drawings. While most of the cutting, drilling, and painting took place in the back bedroom, where my worktable is set-up (and, alas, where the photographs are), the assembly of the bear is taking place in the living room, where there is no furniture to speak of anyway. The bear adds character.
