Study for the back. I ended up going with much darker fabric to reference the black depths the foreclosures have had on neighborhoods.
Blogged here.
the X-axis has been taken from an old canon inkjet printer i got from a junkyard for 50 bucks. The z-axis (with the yellow pencil) has been scavenged from an old CD-ROM drive's tray assembly. You can see my cluttered new "worktable" in the background
Under all this gutter material is an Anscoflex camera. It has a large viewfinder - great for ttv photography.
The goal here is to insert a magnifying lens between the bottom camera (Anscoflex) and the top one, which will be my digital camera. I'm taking this contraption to a workshop and am hoping other people will be able to take useable photos with their non-zoom cameras.
To do this, everything was lying on its side on my worktable, lined up as if it was in the contraption: The magnifying lens had a focal length of about 4 inches. I held it 4 inches from the Anscoflex viewfinder, and checked the focus on my digital camera. It had to be 6 inches away from the lens to get a focused image.
This is a cool table/sewing box that was kindly given to me by my parents-in-law. It belonged to both of their mothers at various times so I was really touched to be given it. Plus its cool and useful, excellent!
Welcome to SugarPlumDolls.com I think my cute clothespin dolls make fabulous Christmas ornaments or gifts BUT are now also available as greetings cards, postcards and more..Just to let you know all dolls are individually handcrafted clothespin dolls and make very special gifts or can be used as a holiday ornament. I think they add a personal touch to the holidays! It takes me about 2 to 3 days to make each doll. Each doll has her own personality. No two dolls are alike, some dolls may be similar but because of the handmade process each doll is unique. Some dolls may have slight imperfections in the wood, but aren't we all a little less than perfect! Each doll arrives on my worktable as a blank slate. After I draw on the face, paint the hair and body, then I glue the head to the body then wait a day for the paint and glue to dry. I have a treasure trove of fabric and tulle and I begin to craft an outfit and accessories for each girl. I hope you will enjoy your visit here. You can shop for an actual doll online at www.etsy.com/shop/clothespindolls or visit me on YouTube at youtube.com/clothespindolls where I show you how to make your own Sugar Plum Clothespin dolls and other cute handmade items. Enjoy the day!

Underneith worktable is stored dremel stuff, paper towels, some pre-made polyclay pieces and lots of drips on floor mat!
Jun-Li organized a big T-shirt decorating party after lunch, bringing pigments and some stamps from St Paul. All we did was feed her and provide some empty T-shirts to paint.
Ladies' work table for sewing and a squat little chair for sitting in while wearing your bigpoofy skirt.
My DH, Andy, putting up the last panel of wall board on the daylight wall. He does such a good job with every project he tackles. Doesn't always happen as quickly as planned, but is always done well.
hummmm...beginning to think that maybe my worktable shouldn't go back against the wall.....
This mess is the BEFORE of my basement studio. Shown here is the main worktable where I clay and bead. So much has accumulated over the past 2 years. But this all needs to be moved out so that DH can build 2 more walls for cabinets.

Today I got a helping hand and was quite productive. Lots of bead bases rolled up, the blends for that lavender (rose and daisy from that), for the butterfly in progress and the 10-petal daisy that has already been reduced.
From the extremely talented katz, all the way from Hong Kong. Happily living on my worktable lamp, making sure I don't do anything stupid.

Claudia is taking a rest on the edge of my worktable. I’ve just finished the paniers. You may see the opening in the top of the paniers for the pockets.

This sturdy work table is a great place for gathering. Made with weathered gray cedar 4×4’s salvaged from old pickling tanks and complimented by removable shelves made from salvaged tobacco lath. Enjoy the smooth beauty of a reclaimed slate top (subject to availability) or stainless steel. Made in Wisconsin.

For so many years I have admired dollmakers around the world, loving to see work in progress pictures or their wortables.
Last night, staying around wool, heads, scissors, etc, I have realised I have my own worktable.
It's like a dream come true, even if it's only in the beggining...
I'm way behind on posting my quilting photos, but I wanted to share this, My new but not so new worktable/computer desk. I've been eyeing this old library table for about 6 months at a local antique shop. It's a shop where they price an item and for every month it sits in the shop, they lower the price a little bit trying to get the item sold. I happen to go in there just to see if by chance it was still there and it was. And it was down $36.00 but the price hadn't been lowered since November 30th. I asked about it and they lowered the price another $3.00. They even delivered it free for me because I was only about 2 miles from the shop. I love it. I love antique wood furniture, and this one, even it's flaws, is just beautiful to me,
The chair was a find at Goodwill for $2.00 several months ago. I just recovered the seat with a fabric I had in my stash, a leftover piece of batting, some staples.
"I can be a bad girl, too, you know?"
(No, she can't - I'm not good at taking sexy photos of my dolls just like I'm not good at action poses *giggle*. But I wanted to include it anyway - I mean, what good is a working zipper for, if not for zipping?)

This is a project that I had on my mind (and worktable) for quite a long time! Thanks to Dal Lee, who encouraged me to show my Havoc, I finally got myself together to cut her hair and take the photos ; ).
For those who don't know, the original Havoc is a fashion doll from the Seventies and is closely related (not by blood but by manufacturing ; )) to Mary Quant's "Daisy". There are some great sites out there where you can find more info on the original doll.
I stumbled across the original Havoc many years ago and remembered her when Poppy Parker got into the "Lotta Danger" and "Girl from INTEGRITY" storyline. Since Lotta's arch enemy Sebina and her brother Sebastian are the Havoc siblings, it's pretty safe to think that David B. had Havoc in mind when her worked on Lotta.
To make it short: Havoc is a secret agent whose real name is not known and she works as a journalist (at least sometimes) while her true job is kicking the evil a**es all over the world. The backside of the doll packaging had some cool comics that showed Havoc in action and wow, this girl means business! She's great!
My own girl got a midnight blue lycra bodysuit with working zipper (completely sewn by hand, I went crazy with this outfit *lol*) and white boots. That's her standard battle suit. I made a 1/6 scale version of her pink shirt (from the motorcycle set), too, but haven't made the rest of the items yet (jeans, leather jacket and so on).
I'm not quite sure, if I want to make her more outfits based on her original ones, or not. The trehcncoat with red hat is iconic!
Big thanks go to my brother, who recreated the Havoc logo so I could complete the suit and to Dal Lee for giving me the needed push towards completing the project.
"I won't hurt you... much."

George likes to jump on my worktable while I'm in the middle of a project. His way of telling me to pay attention to him, I suppose.
