This is the awesome casual dress my girlfriend would wear over the last two years. I love the pattern and colour of this dress. It's a fun little slip on stretchy dress. I do like fairly open necks on an outfit (one of the other reasons I'm not a fan of men's wear). Just because some of us are hairy, doesn't mean the rest of us need to cover up!
Cheap LED flood lights provide a huge amount of light for they power they use.
Often the cheap ones come with no instructions or specifications so "you pays your money and takes your chance". Coupled with a diffuser or reflector they can be handy for the "black and white" photographer. The colour balance may be a bit harsh for colour work.
This shot was taken with a little 5 watt unit I bought to go outside the garage door; no reflector or diffuser just on the work bench for a quick test before getting up the ladder to install it.
A little project Inspired by Enchanted Doll face pendants and silver headpieces. This is my attempt, so far, to make a doll sized hand mirror with a face on the front and mirror on the back.

"The process of creation is alchemy, is making material from next to nothing, is magic at the height of power. Artists are powerful. It is not just talent. It is a dedication to the flame that begs them: make something. Make something. Make something from this nothing."

Leisure Valley, Chandigarh
A camera allows you to dream. It allows you to focus on the things you like about the time and space you inhabit. In my recent work on Chandigarh, I have sought to capture the essence of the city for future generations who will live or pass through it. When I migrated here in the late seventies, Chandigarh was a relaxed, laid back town. Time moved languidly and slowly during those days. It is now a bustling, energetic city, which has fortunately retained the charm and beauty of its early years. There are very few cities in India, which can be compared with Chandigarh, because there are very few cities, which were entirely built according to a master plan by an architect of the stature of Le Corbusier. The complex interplay of shadows and light in Le Corbusier's architecture is particularly enthralling to me as a photographer. I view a camera as a receptacle of light. But imagining a great architect conceiving and building a city as a receptacle of light is an exhilarating vision for me. Presently I am working on documenting this light as it falls on the stirring straight lines and open spaces of Chandigarh.
Chandigarh has retained the rigid design and beauty of Corbusier's art. Human habitation and nature exists in harmony in the city. In the future this city, like every other city, will change in ways we cannot fathom at the moment. In my work I have sought to follow Leo Tolstoy's dictum: "In the name of God, stop a moment, cease your work, look around you". I have stopped for a moment. I have ceased my work. I am looking around. I would like to share what I see through the viewfinder of my camera. The human eye has a 50mm angle of view. But photography offers multiple angles of view stretching from ultra wide to ultra telephoto. I view these photographs as my homage to the beautiful city, which has given me shelter for over three decades.

A really nice work outfit for winter, with a high neck to keep me warm and a high hem to raise some other temperatures!
I'd be happy to wear this to work. The dress is a gorgeous shade and an excellent fit. I really don't mind the shoes at all; I can wear them all day.
Work train 93m, with an ex-Burlington Northern SD40-2, runs long hood forward as he pulls 10 loaded ballast cars out of the Harrisburg Yard and on to the mainline. The Operation Lifesaver painted unit would travel west down the Lurgan Branch, bound for the maintenance track at Chambersburg.
New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) R52 locomotive no. 80 (GE, 1977) is seen with its work train at W 8th St Station on the BMT Brighton Line. This is one of the most typical work train consists seen in the NYC subway: a locomotive, rider car (converted passenger car used for transporting workers), flat car, and crane car.

Dogs - mans best friend? Not on this day, three class 46 slides arrive in the post, hungry (mardy being left on her own) = slides destroyed, one forever, unrecoverable, two to be saved by the wonders of photoshop. Lots of work to do yet, but as BR used to say, we’re getting there..
