The window frame has caught the light (just as well, as the fly hasn't!) HFDF :o))

Al Mudhif - A Confluence is a collaboration of Sarah Kavage and Philadelphia-based artist Yaroub Al-Obaidi and his brother Mohaned to build a mudhif at the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education (SCEE), possibly the first such structure to be built in North America! A mudhif is a traditional Iraqi ceremonial structure, made of bundled and woven marsh-growing reeds, that serves as a hospitality and celebration space. This mudhif will be made from invasive Phragmites reeds that were locally harvested nearby.

Grand opening Thursday, June 24, 2021, 7-9 pm. RSVP:

I'm sure that almost everyone who visits the trading post sees this shot opportunity and takes this photo, and I absolutely couldn't resist it either.

Unfortunately, it was right after lunch, and the light on the buttes was very harsh, but we were part of a bus tour, and that's when we happened to be there.

my first trip to mcs. i've truly been a lucky girl lately to venture to some amazing places with some exposure detroit friends. what a crazy, stunning, amazing place.

it as if every single window in the whole building has been broken. and this frame has even been bent out. in my mind i see someone trying to escape out this window, although it's many, many stories up.

Broken window, British Aluminium Works, Foyers, Loch Ness, Scottish Highlands. Black and white.

I had to tweak this a bit since the bright sunlight were making it hard to see the details of the charred window frame. I think this version is better than the first one I posted.

Royal William Yard - I thought the reflection of Mayflower Marina in the window looked good against the stonework

This afternoon after work I went to visit Nucleus in Rochester and afterwards went to The Deaf Cat for a coffee. While stitting there I was looking out this window and thought it would make a nice photo with the Cathedral spire. I think I will have to go back to improve on these.

House in The Hamptons

Wanna know how this was shot?

Pretty ordinary really... No studio, no lights, no nothing... Just natural high contrast winter light in london, channelled like this by the windowframes in my parents' home...

This same light pattern has always fascinated me - and I always intended to photograph something in it, only there was never the right subject handy...

Well this one morning, for no reason other than random chance, this artesan glass was sitting there instead of in the cupboard... Well, rather the reason being someone had got it out, not used it and left it there!

One by one, my father, sister and brother descended upon the kitchen to find me dozy looking (just got up) playing with my lenses and moving the cup around for a good 15minutes - chasing the rays...

I think they were amazed at the kind of patience I can display with an inanimate object, but not with them! LoL!

I had a good holiday visiting them anyway...

I wish I could eat the salt off of your lost faded lips

We can cap the old times, make playing only logical harm

We can cap the old lines, make playing that nothing else will change

Well she can read, she can read, she can read, she can read, she's bad

She can read, she can read, she can read, she's bad, oh she's bad

But it's different now that I'm poor and aging

I'll never see this face again

You'll go stabbing, yourself in, the neck

And we can find new ways of living, make playing only logical harm

And we can top the old times, clay making that nothing else will change

But she can read, she can read, she can read, she can read, she's bad

She can read, she can read, she can read, she's bad, oh she's bad

It's in the way that she poses

It's in the things that she puts in my hair

Her stories are boring and stuff

She's always calling my bluff

She puts the, she puts the weights in to my little heart and she gets in my room and she takes it apart

She puts the weights into my little heart

I said she puts the weights into my little heart

She packs it away, she packs it away, she packs it away, she packs it away

It's in the way that she walks, her heaven is never enough

She puts the weights in my heart

She puts the, she puts the weights into my little heart

This was flaking, so I stripped and Hammerited it all as a temporary measure - in Dec 09 the frames were removed and re-sprayed professionally

I took this shot a while ago but I found it today and thought it had potential.
