Sheesha gear prepared and laid out in preperation for the evening. This was taken on Arab Street; a charismatic neighbourhood full of middle eastern influenced, restaurants, bars, handicrafts and other shops.
Interesting to note that the dimensions of this window are EXACTLY 4:5 which made cropping it to the 4:5 preset dead easy!

Almost down to bare wood in one application. Not so bad. People, I understand sometimes we get bored with our bathroom. It happens, I know this. So buy some new towels, some #fancy soaps, maybe even a funny picture about leaving the toilet seat down. These are all acceptable. So please, for the love of your god- DON'T PAINT YOUR FUCKING WOODWORK!! And whomever thought it wasn't enough to just paint all the wood in my bathroom- really, seafoam green? Really?

My messing around shots are taken when i'm bored, not able to shoot outdoors (varying reasons), and I just need my shutter 'fix' for the day.
So here's a shot of some of the things hanging on the wall in the furnace/laundry room. We recently painted the walls in the house, hence, the painter's tape, brushes, and paint stick.
And that's a MasterCraft hammer.
The light was fairly low in this room at the time I shot this -- so the brightness was bumped up a bit. I'm also using the new tripod and ball-head more, so that's been pretty good so far. Manfrotto really does make a good product. My only caveat thus far with the 190xprob legs are the lever type leg tighteners -- I'm thinking I would prefer the twist-tightener type.

A hatrack display on its own is not so much of interest to me. However a hatrack in front of an old window on a foggy autumn morning on Lookout Mountain is another story altogether. This was in White Elephant Antique store in Mentone, AL.

My mind was blank as to what to take a photo of today, then I spied him scraping paint from around a window....
This building was being renovated and I was allowed to look inside, stripped back to the bare bricks. You can see the various reincarnations, looking at doors, windows and lintels.

As I was leaving work Monday I noticed my keys were missing. Office and house keys, that is. I looked everywhere but they were nowhere to be found. I thought I may have dropped them on the way back from lunch and retraced my steps carefully, to no avail.
As it was raining, and Tessa had to go to K-9 college orientation, I didn't fuzz much; after briefly checking all windows to see if I had left one open by accident (nope), I picked up a garden tool, smashed a pane of glass that was cracked already, and broke into my own place (which felt weird).
I spent almost an hour cleaning up the glass which had flown everywhere, so Tessa won't eat it, and sealed the window with leftover floor tiles (the sylish black and white bistro theme now carried over into the living room).
[Off to orientation we went, where Tessa the two-legged wonder entertained about 40 people and their dogs for an hour. Yeah we need help.]
The next morning I woke up at 5 a.m. remembering very clearly where I had put down my keys in the office. After retrieving them, I took the remainder of the day off to deal with the broken window. When I learned that the glass repair place charges $ 90/hour just for labor, I had no choice but do this myself. It took two hours to remove the old putty, chiseling it off one millimeter at a time but the effort was well worth it - the project cost me $ 9.70 (!) in materials (glass, putty, glazier points) and while the result is not all that pretty I'm fine with it for now.

I acquired this window frame from a client who'd had it removed to make way for an extension and kindly let me take it off her hands.
Three new bits of glass and a good scrub later (plus almost a year of sitting around awaiting my attention), and we have ourselves this rather handsome picture frame!
