Fragaria vesca, commonly called the wild strawberry, woodland strawberry, Alpine strawberry, Carpathian strawberry or European strawberry, is a perennial herbaceous plant in the rose family that grows naturally throughout much of the Northern Hemisphere, and that produces edible fruits.

Wild Dogwood Blooms this tree is growing in the woods, pretty wild but holding it's own, a bit thin because of a late freeze, shot in North Carolina.

Wild Pink Clover in the Rain.

Having a foggy morning yesterday, I headed out with my camera to a small community park that used to be an apple orchard left to grow wild for the most part.

Thanks for viewing and have a great day!

Wild Mountain Thyme

Oh the summer time is coming

And the tress are sweetly bloomin

And the wild mountain thyme

Grows around the bloomin heather

Will he go lassie go

And we'll all go together

To pluck wild mountain thyme

All around the bloomin heather

Will he go lassie go

I will build my love a tower

By your pure, crystal fountain

And around it i will place

All the flowers of the mountain

If my true love he were gone

I would surely find another

Where the wild mountain thyme

Grows around the bloomin heather

Wild swimming at dawn is all the rage at the moment.

Here a spot of bird watching too :)

Wild Line is the name of this rather new suspension bridge on the treetop walk in the Black Forest which I visited last week. It offers a great view but is a challenge if you have a problem with heights, especially as it is swaying and bouncing as you cross.

Found a Wild Rose Bush today.

wild snapdragon, also known as yellow toadflax. i passed by this in the car yesterday and had to go back and take a picture. i wasn't sure what i'd seen, thought maybe it was just a yellow leaf i'd mistaken for a flower. but no! this glorious specimen!

i'm not sure i've seen one of these since 2010 (November 7th, 2010, to be precise). i picked a sprig of one on a walk with my brother and friend and snapped a photo of it held between my chipped black nail-polished fingers. i was a big fan of chipped black nailpolish at the time -- the chipped the better. i still am. the chipping is a way of measuring time; what has already happened, what has yet to happen. the chipping tells the tale of its acquisition. the chipping is a rorschach test; look close, can you see continents, skylines, ocean waves?

if i had been alone that day, i would have been listening to music on one of 3 devices; an iPod classic, a Walkman, or a portable CD player. the iPod was contemporary, but the Walkman and CD player weren't, nor was much of the media i consumed.

recently i've found it very interesting how my teenaged nostalgia for times i'd never experienced has blended with nostalgia for my actual experiences. i look at my photos of the early 2010s, and there's evidence of the early 2010s being the era they were taken in -- but some of my photographic choices, and, moreover, my memory of those times, is suffused with a fixation on the 1990s, the music, the movies, the cultural atmosphere. the photos, and the memories, seem to exist outside time. i enjoy that.

Wild Co Cavan, I never ceased to be amazed at what's around the corner in my County well this was just over the border around our local Mountain, what a scene I was presented with on this mornings walk - glad I took my camera

the beauty of the simple

It is always special to see wildlife living free in their natural habitat. I think this zebra picture really shows that.

Moment captured at Boerner Botanical Gardens in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. USA

Growing next to Rosa canina, but different. The leaves are not glossy and the flowers are a more intense pink. I need to get photos of the thorns and a close up of the leaves.
