Forgive me for repeating myself throughout each photograph but I'm not expecting you, the viewer, to look at each shot I have taken ... of course I would be delighted if you did.
I diagonally cut a small selection of white pieces of paper and fanned them out. What you see is the shots taken at various apertures, angles and direction of light. I found the simplicity effective and pleasing, I hope you do too? Thank you for taking the time to look at them.
Happy Macro Monday!
My submission was a few minutes too late this week.
Oh well, here it is anyway, I struggled with this one.
This book is perfect to write down some thoughts while having a cup of tea. It's long skinny format is great for fitting it onto a table filled with dishes meaning it's perfect for writing or sketching while eating.
This book is made using a red Asian paper covering book board. The inside of the cover was lined with a page from local Asian market circular, Marukai. The signatures are made up of light blue, yellow, pink, hot pink and white bond paper. Also, I added recycled envelopes and brown bags, graph paper and yellow college ruled lined paper. I used a turquoise hemp thread to bind the signatures to the cover. Against the red cover it looks greenish. I also created false headbands, using scraps of the security printed envelopes, on the top and bottom of the signatures as an added feature.

Once I started doing the CD cover salvage books, I had a ton of options to choose from. This one was near the bottom of the pile so I decided to try a new binding on this one that I had never tried. It's still a long stitch bind but a different pattern than I had done before. The stations where the thread comes through the spine fell into one another and the thread ended up not being as clean and neat as I wanted but still, it gave me a cool effect that was unexpected. This book had tutti fruitti signatures, lots of different paper stocks hand cut together so each spread is unique. The final size of this book was 5 1/2" wide and 5" tall. It was over an inch at the spine. THis book had a crapload of pages for the size of the book.

I salvaged the items I used to make this cover from Transplants recycled paper CD cover. I bound the signatures to the cover using a long stitch bind and colored hemp binding thread in a design I created for the spine. The signatures consist of blue, red, yellow and white graph paper and lined paper and finished with sheets of tracing paper. The book measures 5 5/8" wide and just under 5" tall and is an inch wide at the spine. This book had 128 pages with 256 surfaces to write/draw/whatever on.

Mudassar Javid a member of the writing team for the student white paper on Climate Leadership in schools says one of their recommendations is for students to gain more of a voice on what they learn: "In terms of our advisory committees we want to make sure that students feel they actually have a voice and there is not a sense of pessimism. This first begins with a student body within our school board and it fully expands on to a provincial level where we can communicate with the ministers," said Javid. I used blue leather backed with card stock and lined with handmade silkscreened Japanese wave paper. I used a piece of chipboard for the spine. I wrapped each signature with pages from the Japanese newspaper Rafu Shimpo. The white pages are a high quality Hammermill bond paper with a slick writing/drawing surface. I also added faux headbands to give the book a more sophisticated look. I binded the signatures to the book using red colored hemp thread using a wrapped long stitch bind. The cover is a soft cover allowing it to be comfortably stuffed into pockets, purses and bags of all sorts making this perfect for the writer or artist on the go. The size of the book is 4.5" W x 5.75" H with 128 white pages or 256 white surfaces to write or draw on.

This is an excerpt of Vormetric’s whitepaper: Simplifying IT Operations Securing and Controlling Access to Data Across the Enterprise. www.Vormetric.com/key82 .The whitepaper outlines the challenges of enterprise key management and details ways to minimize the risk.
This whitepaper from Vormetric on Key management strategy strives to provide the reader with an understanding, of the importance of encryption key management and of its evolution. Additionally, understanding that companies today require actionable information, the paper provides the reader with a set of criteria for encryption key management as well as an understanding of the challenges that may be faced. This is followed by a review of the recent industry initiatives and compliance regulations that are shaping the future of key management strategy. Lastly, the paper describes Vormetric’s Key Management, a component of the Vormetric Data Security product family.
According to the whitepaper, encryption key management should meet four primary criteria:
1.Security – In implementing a comprehensive data security strategy, organizations are well - advised to consider the security of the encryption keys. Where are they stored and how are they protected? Improper key management means weak encryption, and that can translate into vulnerable data.
2.Availability – In addition to being secure, the keys must ensure that the data is available when it is needed by the system or user. Key management practices that add complexity can decrease availability or add overhead to the network. That results in damage to the over efficiency of the network.
3.Scalability and Flexibility – Growth and change are inevitable in an organization. The key management solution should be able to address heterogeneous, distributed environments so as not to hamper either growth or change.
4.Governance and Reporting – Reporting is essential to proper institutional governance. Often, third party entities (be they customers or regulatory authorities) will request, and in some cases mandate, proper governance and reporting of key management. That means implementing and enforcing things like separation of duties, authorization process and key lifecycle management.
Internet Protocol version 6 or IPv6 is an improved version of the current and most
widely used Internet Protocol, IPv4. IP enables data to be sent via the Internet and
ensures that it arrives at its correct destination. In addition to creating more
addresses so that more people and devices can connect to the Internet, IPv6
provides some exciting enhancements over IPv4.

I made this book using a piece of white leather. I decorated the book cover, inside cover and inside back cover with Mexican lottery card cutouts. I used green heavy card stock with a linen-type pattern.
The text block is made up of white graph paper, pink, yellow, hot pink and light blue bond paper, salvaged paper bags, yellow legal lined paper and salvaged envelopes with security printing on one side. There are approximately 128 pages, give or take one or two.
It has fake red headbands, handmade by yours truly and was hand bound using a basic codex stitch. The book measures almost 6" long by 4 1/8" tall. It's 1 1/4" wide at the spine.
