For #MacroMonday, #WhitePaper, #JustWhitePaper

Forgive me for repeating myself throughout each photograph but I'm not expecting you, the viewer, to look at each shot I have taken ... of course I would be delighted if you did.

I diagonally cut a small selection of white pieces of paper and fanned them out. What you see is the shots taken at various apertures, angles and direction of light. I found the simplicity effective and pleasing, I hope you do too? Thank you for taking the time to look at them.

33/366: Project 52 - white on white

It's funny, I love doing white on white but as soon as I have to do it for a challenge, I can't think what to do. This is white copier paper.

The idea is to create a repetitive pattern moving in the space using an Epson White Photo Paper partially shredded so that once hanged the stripes move as a wave.

This has been also inspired by M. C. Escher. Cycle, Spirals, and Snakes pictures.

HMM to all of view that took time to read this description... Thanks

It’s not that I have a fresh flower as my EveryDayCarry but, for sure, I need to carry with me some tissues.

So, to take the picture, I made a ball of a tissue and shot… HMM

For Macro Mondays - Painted

Took me a while to find something 'fake'. Remembered this ring I once gave my granny and which I got out of these machines where you put a coin in and then get a ball filled with nicknacks - in this case - a ring. The eggshell was still lying on my selfmade whitepaper background theater that I made for MacroMonday so I felt the urge to put the ring as if it was hedging...

Don't really remember what you call these things (Fortune Tellers??) but everybody used to make them when I was in school (many years ago!). Long before the digital age or 8 ball fortune tellers they were a simple idea if you could make one. On the outside, written on the four corners, were different colours, you got your “victim” to pick a colour and moved the thing with your fingers back and forward and side to side to correspond with the amount of letters. Inside were a series of numbers and again like the colours, the process was repeated a couple of times before your “victim” choose a number, on folding back the number there was something written (by the maker), e.g. that the “victim” was alleged to love someone or more often than not something derogatory about the victim or their family. Completely childish but it passed many an “uncomfortable” hour in the playground/classroom/ or the walk home!!

What was surprising about this genre was not that it took ages to get the white balance right, and I'm not convinced that it is as it should be! But, that nearly 50 years later I remembered how to to make one of these childish origami's, much to the surprise and delight of family and friends. I have to confess though, that once made, the themes that were written inside this time are of a slightly more adult theme than all those years ago ;0) HMM.

Happy Macro Monday everyone!!

Macro Mondays theme: White paper

I'm not very sure about this picture at all - it hasn't come out as I had intended, but it will do!

Regarding the theme from January 16: Just White Paper

For "Looking close... on Friday!" theme of " White on Black".

Just a 7mm wide strip of white printing paper, very quickly zig-zag folded and the ends glued together, It took nearly as long to find the glue as to cut and fold the paper! The resulting 'star' is just 5cm across and lit with a single desk lamp.

In retrospect, I think I might have done better to use a thinner and rougher paper to get a more textured look - but perhaps another time!

For Macro Monday Theme - Just white Paper

1/300: 100 x challenge - January's theme is minimalism.

I took a few sheets of white paper (cut them in half to save waste) folded them over and stapled them to keep them together then positioned them on another sheet of white paper, held in place with a sticky pad. The blue is just shadow, no colour added.

I'm sorry for the lack of comments, I am not going to be around much over the next two or three months. I will stop by when I can to post for challenges and will try to leave a comment (probably limited to one word) and or hit the fave button...not something I am fond of doing without a comment but I hope you will be understanding for a while. I am missing the 365 and my daily Flickr fix! I do appreciate your continued support and encouragement but equally don't expect comments when I can't reciprocate much.

Handmade (and) White on White

I used 2 of 2019's themes purely by use of material and colour (not that white is an actual colour)

As previously for both themes I used tiny triangular pieces of paper and positioned in a conical form. What you see is purely natural light falling across the image - I hope you like it?

Happy Macro Mondays my fellow Flickr friends and a very Happy New Year! - A huge thank you for your "faves" and "comments" they are very much appreciated! :-)

I just put 3 A4 sheets of paper into a blender...taken for MacroMondays theme "Just white paper" from 16.1.2017.

Thanks for viewing, faving and commenting ! HMM!

(MM options for White Paper) This was taken outside in the morning with the sun shining through a green wine glass that I had. This sparked a lot of other ideas for MM. :-)

I wish you a happy Macro Monday and a great week!

10th August 2021 :

... White on white.

This is the adapter to our new parasol. It goes on the stand for a thinner support pole if necessary.

Have gone down with a rather nasty tummy bug. This was all I could manage. I'll be back tomorrow, hopefully without the bug.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites.

Macro Monday Theme: Just White Paper

I wanted to try and play with shadows and contrast for this theme. The crane is a symbol of peace and you can see light and darkness fighting around it.

The crane is about 1.5 inches from the tip of each wing.
