When I was a child they said that when the rowan berries had
this kind of red the winter would be very cold with
loots of snow
The wind was lifting up the clouds of steam from the valley that the storm earlier had caused, while the last rays of the setting sun colored the hat of the nearby peak. At the same time the junipers, located on the lake shores, were waiting still submerged for spring to free them up from the dead grip of the thick and heavy snow.

p.s. The remaining of the ice submerged into the lake and the junipers trapped under the water were solid enough to withstand normal human weight without yielding. The cracking sounds of slow melting ice and the bubbles popping-up on the surface from time to time reminded me not to force my luck too much and go any further.
Just seemed like an appropriate pic to do in light of this afternoons tier 4 restriction announcement.
When you defeat all the other members of the household, this is the final boss to beat.
Happy Whiskers Wednesday!
When the young monk Tsui-Yen felt that he had understood the essence of life, he left his teacher and traveled through China. Many years later, on his return, his master asked him: " Tell me about the essence of life". and Tsui-Yen replied: “When the sky is clear and the light plays in the waves of the water. The master looked at him and said: “You have grown old too, but you have not understood. Tsui-Yen lowered his eyes and asked his old master with a tear-streaked face: “Then please tell me what the essence of life is.” The master replied: “When the sky is clear and the light plays in the waves of the water".
I immediately thought of this story, which is typical for Zen Buddhists.

When I visited this old dolmen at Kilclooney I managed to smash my phonecamera. My brother (he of the quick wit) told me it was the spirits of the dolmen getting their own back on me for disturbing their peace by taking photos.
When a warning gibbous Moon rises behind Montmartre.
Silent House
The Chicks
Everyday that will pass you by
Every name that you won't recall
Everything that you made by hand
Everything that you know by heart
And I will try to connect
All the pieces you left
I will carry it on
And let you forget
And I'll remember the years
When your mind was clear
How the laughter and life
Filled up this silent house
Went into Blues Point on Thursday morning and got a nice moody dark sky.
This is a single 3.5 minute long exposure, well before the sun broke the horizon.
Hope you like “Silent House”
Cheers, Mike
When I was posting this seascape on Flickr I was just giving it the title of 'another beautiful sunset'. We seem to have had beautiful vibrant sunsets most days this week. Then the weather forecast came on and the presenter explained:
The clouds are called Sahara Dust clouds;
They appear when the winter sun is lower in the sky;
We see longer wavelength colours; orange, pink and red;
Dust particles in the atmosphere reflect and scatter the light from the sun;
They create vivid reds, oranges, pinks, yellows and purples.
And there's me thinking we just have pretty skies at the moment.

In a world where power crackles in the air and tension smoulders beneath the surface, one moment can ignite everything.
Captured in the split-second between calm and chaos —

Rarau - mountains in Romania are one of the strongest magnetic points on Earth - some claim. I climbed this mountain on a very nice trail in rain and fog. When I arrived at the top, everything was just gray fog! I tried to imagine the view ... and suddenly there was a wind that blew past and the clouds were blown away for 3 loooong minutes ... and I saw parts of the glory that this mist hides! Beautiful and wild Romania!
When it is sad and wintery moody outside, I look for my blooming garden again !!! I start listening to my favorite YouTube music!!! And then, everything falls into place, ….inside out!! Lovely, no???

When I realised I was sitting in his run blocking his route I felt guilty when he diverted through a nasty patch of brambles
When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark
At the end of the storm
Is a golden sky
and the sweet song of a lark
Walk on through the wind,
Walk on through the rain,
Tho' your dreams be tossed and blown.
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone,
You'll never walk alone.

When Venus shines in the night sky, she eclipses all other lights with her incomparable beauty
A walk on Gress Beach, bathed in moonlight, with Venus setting in the west, the sound of the waves crashing on the reef out in the bay, the song of the grey seals, the cry of a lone seabird flying home to roost - a perfect way to end the day, and a cosy bed with some hot chocolate waiting at Mill View.
