When I shot this, I assumed that it was a Dandelion, but now I'm not so sure. Apparently there are quite a few plants that look just like a Dandy. I wish I had looked closer at the leaves, to help with the ID, but I was more concerned with just getting it in focus.

⭐️Thank you in Advance for your kind ‘Faves’ Visits and Comments they are so very much appreciated. 👍

I cannot always ‘Thank’ everyone individually, for their Visits and ‘Faves’ however, I will always try to respond and thank all those that leave a ‘Comment’. If I do not reply to your 'Comment', it is not because I am ignoring you, it's because I have not seen the 'Comment'.

Your 'Comments' do not always appear in 'Notifications' or Flickr mail, so, I am sorry for any delay in responding. Often your 'Comment' is only spotted 'On the Page' on the day, that I see it. (seen ONLY when replying to someone HAS 'Commented' on the image, and I see a notification)

When I was going out to work, I stopped for some minutes to appreciate the view and take some captures... Really a cold day, but, beautiful too.. ;-))

with so much rain, these little puffs look like drowned cats now... and most have fallen off...

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

In the land of the pale blue snow,

where it's ninety-nine below,

and the polar bears are roaming o'er the plain,

In the shadow of the Pole

I will clasp her to my soul,

We'll be happy when the ice worms nest again.

A blue hour image from a hidden little gem, a downtown rooftop park in Kansas City. The purple hues and glow of the skyscrapers were quite magical on this evening.

They came into the house, and saw the young child with Mary, his mother, and falling down on their faces they gave him worship: and from their store they gave him offerings of gold, perfume, and spices." Matthew 2:10 & 11

Seems appropriate so close to Epiphany.

When you live in the shadow of a big tree, you have to run twice as fast to get into the sunlight. (Leonard Lauder)

When I thought about walking on the railways of Riga's Train Station, I quickly dismissed the idea, as it was clearly against the rules and someone would probably escort me out right away. Then I saw some people casually crossing the railways to get to the other side, so I followed.

I ended up walking all around the railways, trains, wagons, etc. Everyone there acted as if it was normal, and so did I — taking quite a handful of pictures and seeing the city from an unusual perspective. I love Riga ❤️❤️❤️

Not sure if this little barn will last another winter, but it looks like the tree decided to help protect it over the years...

A sculpture exhibition at the Hayward Gallery, Southbank Centre.

This one is the work of Tara Donovan and is made out of hundreds of thousand of circles of Mylar which is a shiny, foil-like material, folded and glued together into these spherical "bouquets", which are then arranged into this final sculpture.

Image processed in Affinity Photo 2. Happy Sliders Sunday!

Beautiful morning light helps.

When one could still walk in the woods, in France.

Our apprroach to Kirkjufell mountain and its waterfalls occurred after a 420 miles day ride and at the perfect hour to witness the beginning of a beautiful sunset.

Missouri Botanical Gardens, St. Louis. Colors are just starting to change in the area. The photography club met at the botantical gardens to see the color.

When I've got to the field it was still a bit dull, so for the first hour things weren't so interesting, but I had the time to setup my gear. And then in around 10 minutes, just as the sun set, all the magic happened. It was gold at the begining, then it went to this gorgeous purple gold, then full gold again:

When I first entered The Amphitheatre in 1975, it was with a group of young men and women (seniors high school students). One of them wrote as a result, "One of the greatest moments of my life was when I sat down in The Amphitheatre and looked up and all around me and realized the power, the time lapse and the scale that was being revealed in making this feature. It brought me down to size, making me realize how insignificant we are in comparison to the forces of nature. Then I thought back over the last 9 days that it took us to get here exploring a remarkable world, and I feel fantastic. Without any doubt these days have been the best days of my life!!" Bill G.

It certainly is an awesome location. In here, one is completely surrounded by these towering walls. Entry is via a very narrow defile along one of the major joints.

This precipice sandstone has deep gorges eroded through it, each gorge following the pattern of major joints. Off each gorge, there are many side chasms/defiles/slots, each being along joints that have been eroded by water, and each is unique. The Amphitheatre is one of the most dramatic.

When the wind takes ‘em all

Away from here, away from me

When the sorrow is all gone

It is buried in the soil

When the wind takes em all

Away from here away from me

When the sorrow is all gone

It is buried in the sun

When the wolves howl their song

And the whole earth is done

When the wolves howl their song

And the wind still carries on

....when there is no beginning!
