Weld Food Bank and Poudre Valley Medical Group unveiled a new truck on Monday, Jan. 23. The truck was purchased with funds from a recent donation of $100,000 by Poudre Valley Health System.
During the unveiling, Russ Branzell, CEO of Poudre Valley Medical Group, presented a check to Weld Food Bank in order to help "fill the truck".
Additional money raised by physicians and staff at Greeley Medical Clinic was presented to the food bank as well to be used to purchase food for families in need.
The truck, which brings the Weld Food Bank fleet to four, arrived during the holidays and allows the food bank to reach farther into Weld County and establish new partnerships resulting in an increase in donations from retailers, restaurants and farmers. The food bank will also be able expand its Backpack and Kids Cafe programs and feed additional hungry children. The new truck, retrofitted with a generator, will be able to safely transport hot meals to children and also be used in times of emergency to get hot food to those impacted, volunteers and first responders.

Hull Technician 3rd Class William Sittig welds a stuffing tube cover in the machine shop aboard the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68). Nimitz is operating as part of the U.S. 7th Fleet, in the Western Pacific and Indian Oceans.
What can be done at work with a beat-up welding helmet, masking tape, cans of spray paint and too much time on my hands.
The kid got to do some arc welding in the Production and Design shop. Note that when I said "Jazz hands!" she did "ballet fingers" on "jazz arms". That cracks me up!
