Our cargo gates snapped a small weld during this springs windy season. This morning I dragged out our metal gear to cut off the old piece, grind off the old welds, and replace everything. I'm sure it took me over a hour to put a 3" piece of metal back in place, but at least it is done.

This is the one we sold for a new 200D. Gibran hasn't had the first problem with his new one. This machine has made us alot of money last year. I'll have to get the pictures of the other two machines he has and his welding truck.

I welded the round pan into the 1/8" sheet, and put a rim on the rectangular forge pan.

The small round homemade forge has been converted. Now it's the firepot for this rectangular forge.

I think I need to add a couple angle-iron legs to the front two corners. It's pretty stable as is, but that would be better insurance against any kind of tipping.

this could have been one of those awesome generic welding pictures except for the stupid tripod in the middle. framing this shot was difficult through the welding mask giving improper eye relief.

One of the welding machines at Appropiate Technology Project (ATP) in Kisumu, Kenya, August 11,2011. ATP originated as a Finland based Lutheran based project to build a training facility and sustainable business appropiate to the local ecomony. ATP has been on its own resources for many years, and Bethel Lutheran Church was able to provide support for repairs to ATP's welding and hydraulic equipment.

Here's another film shot from past weeks. Universities hold a downhill race each year on Shrove Tuesday, and each year all the various organisations build their own sled. The sled being built here came in third, being judged mostly by style and effort.

Focus and exposure by guesstimating, framing by "Oh I can't look directly, it's around there". Cropped slightly after scanning.
