Week 16
Well, this week has been painful. Me and ma went to town on monday with intentions of just doin a bit of food shoppin, however it developed into an hour and half at specsavers getting her some glasses and an hour at the tattoo parlour getting cut open and drawn on. i like the result its just i had the stars on my ankle coloured in and they hurt SOOOOOOO bad, i thought they were infected but the guy said they were fine. they are so red and soar. We had our group presentation Wednesday and i think it went well. :-) work was horrendous today. actually one of the worst days i've ever worked, apart from the days when i have been hung over :-( lol we had one sick, one on holiday, one sick and on holiday and one sick all over an isle. On the plus side i didn't see ayma throw up, coz if i had, i'd have been chobbing up after her. YUK. so me an kath have been running around like headless chickens all day and when i got home i was knackered so there is no pub quiz, there is just me, playing on photoshop, trying to make instagram like affects....an here it is
WEEK 5 Landscape: Black and White
Look for a scene with great contrast that will make a great black and white.
FDNY kicked off EMS Week with our 21st Annual EMS Week Competition at Fort Totten. Teams from all nine EMS Divisions and Emergency Medical Dispatch competed in various skills challenges to see who New York’s City’s best EMT and Paramedic teams were. Congratulations to the Advanced Life Support Team from Division 3 in Brooklyn and our Basic Life Support Team from Division 4 in Queens on their victories.

The birdies are at it again;) This is the second group of eggs we found in the nest in the tree in our backyard. The first set have since hatched and have been flying around our yard already. Found a fresh new set of baby eggs this morning so I thought it seemed fitting for this weeks theme. The birdies around here sure do have "spring fever"..;)

Wanted to get some bird pictures for week 2, but all the birds were gone when I went to the spot due to the construction activity. I got some (wild) flowers that were lit by the setting sun.

finally 15 weeks! no more shots.. or vomiting! yay!! growing belly.. growing boobs.. trying to eat food that doesnt make me sick.. still workin on that one everyday! dr appt tomorrow. xfingers.
This is my second pattern that I deconstructed. It is from the Print & Pattern Book 1 from Beth Gunell.
When I started to count the amount of colours, the different motifs and the small details, I discovered the intricity of the design and how it did work. In this design the amount of different colours is just amazing, though the pattern itself seems to be 'pink' at first sight.
I really loved doing this exercise. It opened my eyes and gave me good ideas of how I could expand the possibility of my own motifs.
This exercise might also be a good warmup if you get stuck somewhere in designing patterns. Not to copy these designs, but really seeing how another designer made a pattern work.
Of course I'm back in FL for Winter instead of in the mountains of CA like last week. Tiki always has a beer in hand no matter how "cold" it gets in FL.
Week Thirty-Nine
The lanugo has mostly disappeared, but you'll probably find a bit on her shoulders, arms and legs and in those protected little bodily creases. It will vanish completely on its own in time.
Her lungs are maturing and surfactant production is increasing and fully prepared to take on the outside world!
Your baby doesn't have much room to move and certainly mom agrees! Did you imagine 8 months ago that this wee one would be able to hook a toe in your ribs while elbowing your bladder? She certainly has grown!
Her body continues laying on the fat stores that will help regulate her body temperature after birth. In addition to normal fat, she is accumulating a special "brown" fat in the nape of her neck, between her shoulders and around organs. Brown fat cells are important for thermogenesis (generating heat) during her first weeks.
Your infant's weight is around 7.25 pounds (3288gm) and length is 19.9 inches (50.7cm).
I figured, since I still had to do week 7's challenge and stay up all night, why not also rob a jewellery store while I'm at it?
I mean, I could've just stayed at home, settle on the couch and watch Sherlock Holmes for the millionth time, but let's be honest here; this is so much more thrilling!!
Besides, I look waaaay cooler in this burglar-outfit than in my pyjamas!
And if I do get busted, at least I have a motive:

Project SoulPancake week 7: Stay up all night

After all the worry over Dirk’s DNA – as it applies to Dirlene – I decided to seek the advice of Ula, the Maury Povich of Sierra Leone. Ula does not use blood tests to find the results but the Flowery Fish Wheel. In a very long drawn out complicated process - which I will simplify here by saying “she spun the wheel” – I came home with some surprising results. As I opened the envelope my insides turned to fluid with anticipation. . . .it seems Dirk is NOT the father of Dirlene! (In fact it seems he was rendered sterile by electric watermelon and other exotic fruits). I have some homework to do as there seems to be two possibilities to the paternity – Evis & The Milkman!

Not sure if it is really a 'triangle' if one of the angles is rounded, but it gives the illusion of triangles at the very least. The triangle seems to be a strong structural element, as it is everywhere in architecture, bridges, cranes... even shopping carts!
I had several other ideas for shots which did not get executed due to time/weather/etc. Hope to try them out as the year goes on...
