A picture of the truck and trailer combination that I drive when moving from one location to another. The silver trailer is our shop on wheels and the yellow box is one of the crew campers.

I felt pruned and weedy; I am confident the pruning will prepare me to fully bloom in my next season.

WEEK 36

Artistic: Low Key

Low Key is the opposite of High Key. Shoot an image where most of the tonal range is on left side of the histogram.

A group of individuals and activists from various partner organisations including 350Africa, Project 90 by 2030, The Green Anglicans, and Fossil Free South Africa gathered outside the Energy Week South Africa summit at the Westin Hotel, in Cape Town calling calling on the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) to not fund the Thabametsi coal fired power station.

Final image. I wanted to turn this on it's side as soon as I saw it through the viewfinder. The contact sheet show about 4 images for this shot and they are all of increasing exposure duration. Oddly, I chose the shortest, rather than the longest as a better image!

The Big Stopper doesn't make all pictures better apparently :)

Another possible for next week's theme at Sunday Postcard Art: Vintage Glitz and Glamour. Again, I'm not sure there is the requisite amount (any?) of glitz.. But I am having fun exploring the possibilites.

The woman and the background I'm pretty sure I got here at flickr. If they are yours let me know and I will credit you. The lion statue, which I had to add to flll in a gap, came from Finecrafted Designs' All Greek to Me kit at Deviant Scrap. Heavenly is a Katie Periet brush (Designer Digitals); the orange oblongs is a freebie Photoshop brush from I'm not sure where (no clue in the zip file!)

Somewhere we went wrong

Our love is like a song, but you wont sing along

you've forgotten about us

Dont forget.

i had a couple other versions of the same idea. but i think i liked this one the most, one of the 1st ones i took. even though theres a bit too much going on.

EDIT: ok nvm i hate it

so im hoping you all know what i mean by the ribbon tied around my finger...(hint, hint: people used to tie it around their finger to remember things)

i finally got the number of people that consider me a contact higher than the people i consider a contact. its not that big of a deal and all of you probably have higher than 142 people but whatever :)

hmm wat else...oh finals are over weve got a new trimester and spring break next week so you can finally expect some decent pictures coming soon :)

Welcome to Global Week – a celebration of the rich cultural diversity across all three campuses – running from Monday 3 to Friday 7 March 2014.

Theme of The Week - Light Painting

The aftermath of steel wool light painting ... burning lawn

Head of Press, Kim Hunter Gordon, looking pensive.

finally, after 36 weeks, you get to see the jimi in all his glory. crooked legs, squishy belly and all!! jimi has the worst conformation of any cat i have ever met.

jimi fact #36... the inside toes on both of jimi's back feet are much shorter than the outside toes. this gives him an un-even pawprint, which i know because i have his pawprint tattooed on my foot. :)

Happy New Year to all. Here is my entry for Week # 01, NEW. This is a wheel from the new bike I bought for my wife. Nothing like a new bike that runs and shifts smoothly! With new tires, there are always the little pieces of rubber that stick out and eventually wear off with use. These tires have a lot of these. I love the spoke pattern on these wheels too.

I'm on my second Magic Migraine Pill in this photo (see eyes for confirmation) and the Magic part doesn't seemed to have kicked in. I don't know why they market them as Magic. I need to write a letter to somebody.

They like to wake me up early, before sunrise, these migraines. So I took my first pill sometime in the swirl of chirping birds and cool morning air. And pain.

When the alarm went off an hour later (I actually don't know if it was an hour. It's really an arbitrary number.), I decided that the pill would obviously work very, very soon, and being that it's only my second full week on my own at the new job, I needed to get to work and be a trooper. I am German after all. Migraine? What migraine?

I got to work and wanted to throw up, so instead, I took another pill. It's almost like throwing up. But the opposite.

It would work. It's magic and a narcotic. And a big pharmaceutical company made it for me. Not for me personally, but you know....

Magic.

Four hours later, it still hadn't happened, although the pain, instead of an all over the left side of my head pain, was now a sharpened pencil trying to get out from behind my eye. A very long pencil.

I have no idea how it got in there.

But I decided going home to bed and a dark room with another pill might help the sharp pencil find its way out of my head. Maybe through my ear or nose.

A three hour nap later, it seemed to have turned to mulch and started slowly making its way out of my head. And now 19 hours after it started, I know I will go to sleep and wake up with just a slight migraine hangover in the morning.

If it's still giving me problems tomorrow during my morning coffee, I'm going to have to kick its ass.

52 week photography challenge

I asked the "ideas man" if he had any 'good rusty stuff' I could photograph. He thought that was somewhat of an oxymoron however he did show me a very old English vehicle dashboard that was definitely rusty !

A conversation with my sister:

Me: "The theme of the week is Beauty in the Bland. What can I take a picture of that is boring yet pretty?"

Sister: "Paris Hilton..."

This won second place in the black and white portrait category at the county fair... big money $2.50!

International Housekeepers Week (Sept. 12-18) provided a wonderful opportunity to recognize and thank the more than 700 hard-working housekeeping staff who have continued to keep our sites clean and safe for patients, residents and staff during the most challenging of times. Here are a few of the photos submitted. Eloi 'Eli' Sabacan works at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria. He was singled out as one of Island Health's Real-Life Heroes on Humanitarian Day.

Looks much the same as 9 weeks. The ten week picture was censored due to extreme ugliness. *shudder*

Que verguenza yo...estoy demasiado atrasado con estas fotos...

ICM or Intentional camera Movement is something new to me or is it, many a photograph I took years ago on an old zenith camera came out like this !!
