Week One of my Photo52 challenge.
The subject was direction, so i thought i would get creative with the indicator stalks of the my focus

this week we had this oh so cute house guest :) she was my snuggle buddy, too cute :)
i did like to give her a little mohawk hairdo hehe :)
works been crap as usual, had a weirdo ask me if we sold 'face stuff'!! when i asked what he meant he said he didnt know, well if you dont know, how the hell am i supposed to know!! then he said 'maybe face cream' hmm...
friday went to see city of lights and the dunwells with Christina and Nathaniel, we didnt get there while late due to shitty work grrr need a lottery win and we can open our comic shop and the 'doom bar' ;)
today i celebrated, 6 years ago i had spinal surgery, an op that changed my life completely :) before that i couldnt walk, sleep, go a single minute without being in absolute agony, id gotten to a point where i didnt think i could carry on..... aaahh a little emotional :(
im grateful ever day for having the chance to be normal (and i do use that term loosely ;)
When I say that the last few weeks have been the hardest I’ve ever experienced as a parent, it’s not an over exaggeration or a cry for help, it’s just the truth. If you take all the parts separately, it’s all just minor complaints, but put them together and mix in ongoing sleep troubles for me and a handful other aggravating stressors and it feels like we’ve all reached a tipping point.
Olive’s ongoing poop struggles, while never ideal, quickly escalated into a “I can not live one more day like this” scenario. It’s frustrating for me because I have no control over it. I can’t make it better. I can’t make her get there any faster. And it’s heartbreaking because it can’t be fun for her either. We have wasted entire, beautiful days, taking her back and forth to the bathroom. I’m here to tell you, even the most patient parent starts to lose their cool after making a tenth trip inside to go potty only to be told that she doesn’t want to after all.
It’s miserable not to know when this will end. On the days I do lose my cool, I feel like a complete failure. Turning the potty into a battle of wills, does not help anyone, especially not a toddler who already has so much anxiety about pooping. But, damnit, this part of potty training makes me hate being a parent.
And then there’s just the normal, every day, being two stuff. The No’s and I Don’t Want To’s. The million “uppie hugs” that are needed everyday because a bee flew too close to her or the dog knocked her down or someone told her no. And while we’re on the topic of saying no, here’s something that stinks about having your husband work from home. I’m the mean one that says she needs to take a nap or that it’s not her turn to play with something or that she can’t have the M&M she spied on the counter and because Ryan is home and available, Olive runs off looking for him, crying his name. And because Ryan is a good dad and not a monster, he is there for a nice, cozy “uppie hug.” And I am left feeling like three day old poop.
Because Olive is struggling with controlling her bodily functions, she’s trying to assert control everywhere else she can. “No, mommy. I don’t want you to touch me.” “Stay back, mommy.” “No mommy, I don’t want you to take you (Olive).”
I know not to take it personally. It’s no different than her not wanting to wash her hands or brush her hair. But the potty thing has me feeling worn down to a nub and so it hurts my feelings even when it shouldn’t.
So, that’s where we are. There are lots of fun and exciting things going on, too. But if I didn’t include this story in our parenting journey, the tale would be incomplete.

Our go to after easter treats. The kids have soooooo much left over chocolate we had to melt it some of it down to make rice crispie cakes. They are delicious! Crunchy cereal and smooth sweet chocolate...
I hit 37 weeks today, so I thought a bump photo was in order. Now I just need to make sure I go into labour sometime in the next 5 weeks so I get a shot at the home birth I'd like... fingers crossed!
Definitely think bump has dropped a bit in the last day or two, and midwife said on Wednesday that Nugget's head was 'well down' so fingers crossed eh!

The Middle and Upper Schools celebrated Spirit Week 2014 with special themed dress-up days: America Monday, Tacky Tourist Tuesday, Westminster Wednesday, Dress-Alike Thursday and Flashback Friday.
Some of you may remember my shot from week 30 when we were house sitting.
While he wasn't in the shot, he is the dog that everyone aside from Rigby, was looking at out of frame.
Funnily enough, Rigby was really the only one that paid any attention to the decrepit old dog.
Dino was the reason that we were house-sitting that week. His owner feared that he may die in her absence, so she opted out of boarding.
He was fine with us during that week. Came on the occasional walk with us, ate his food no problem.
Last week he lost the use of his legs entirely. He couldn't move at all. His owner decided that this was the best course of action for her elderly Yorkie. We will be holding a memorial for him sometime in the coming weeks.
Rest In Peace Dino, you will be missed by many.
