Television has been telling me all the things i need for Christmas. All the things i want. All the things i wish i had. And i'm not saying that my list isn't pretty long this year. I just don't think they sell what i'm wishing for on Fifth Avenue. I want to feel healthier. And be happier. I want the strength to disassociate myself from things that are bad for me, and the courage to embrace things that are good for me, even if they're hard. I want freedom for Tibet. And peace on earth. I want all creatures to be treated with the respect they deserve. This means equality. And animal rights. I want good things things for my friends and family. I want to want good things for my enemies. I want my heart to be full and my head to be quiet. And i do not want a pony.

Week 1 - 1-7 January 2016
Having a play with something I got for christmas, A Lego "First Order Special Forces Tie Fighter"... Takes me back to when I used to love playing with Lego. More next week.
My Morning Walk.
Nearly every day starts with a walk with Dax the Labrador. A lovely start to the day even if the weather isn't as good as this.

busy week this week, mr weather stayed nice for me and claire on sunday for our mothers day mini shoots, had such fun doing them, still trying to get through all the pics eek!!
had a bit of an accident on thursday when i accidentally put nail varnish remover on my pads, instead of eye make up remover!! it hurt!! :( then i climbed on the cabinet to get my nail varnish and fell off, hmm.....
at work a little boy made me laugh after his dad sprayed him with some aftershave and asked him what he thought, his reply "it smells like when you pee in your pyjamas" haha :)

This one's a little late. My intention with this one is to show my consistency and dedication. I think my racerback tan lines prove how often I've been running and how hard I've been working. T-114 days until the marathon!

I still need to replace the clothes rod with a metal one, and I need to hang a shoe rack in there too... I should also put in some hooks in the back and get two small battery powered light to stick on the ceiling for some light.

Green Green Green and COLOR!
kohlrabi, romaine lettuce, curly endive, euro salad mix (about 1/3 of what we actually got in a bag shown), carrots, collard greens, beets w/tops, radishes, and garlic
I actually had a few I liked this week, but I chose this one for my project. I'll probably be uploading one or two more from this shoot though!
Thanks to my sister Angela for holding the camera and tolerating my instructions on angling, etc. I promise I will get a remote soon.

I have been spending a few days here and there getting ready to sell my mother's home when I stumbled upon these two miniature boats. My mom always collected beach-type items like lighthouses, boats and sea shells because it reminded her of her time spent in Ocean City, MD.
While it's been very difficult cleaning out her house to prepare to sell it since she passed in June. I have enjoyed finding some gems in her house that I plan to keep and display in my own home and pass on to my children one day.
26 weeks pregnant - 6 months! Not officially in the third tri-mester until next week but I have less than three months to go now.
Another year done and dusted. This is my second year in the group and I have enjoyed it immensely. On a bit of a sad note I must mention that there will not be a third year. At least not in 2015. Next year I have a couple of "projects" outside of photography that will make it very difficult to work within the weekly timetable. However, I don't plan to let my camera gather dust. I will look for a different photography goal for 2015 (another scavenger hunt, 100x project etc.) so expect to see me posting elsewhere on Flickr. For those of you that I follow, I will still be checking in when time allows too. A big big thank you to those of you that have followed my efforts up until now and especially to those of you that have commented, encouraged and inspired me within the 52 Week group. Your words and the motivation to try and lift my work to your high standards have been invaluable. Thank you so much to the small group of administrators that keep the project moving. The themes this year have been both fun and challenging. For those of you embarking on the 2015 edition, I wish you lots of creative energy and perfect moments. Happy and healthy New Year to you all.
{Exactly a decade ago yesterday my husband and I graduated from high school! Although, it was fun, I am so glad it's over and we are living our own life.}
My dad is out of town so I went to his shop to feed the cat. When I pulled into the parking lot, the sun was setting quite spectacularly. The industrial area provided all sorts of lines and other 'geometric shapes' that created a pretty cool atmosphere.
Also, as I was editing I noticed there was a guy in a powered parachute flying through the sky. Originally he was on the very right of the image, but I decided to move him more towards the center.
Hot sun alternated with big thunder storms again this week. The ants' aphid business is flourishing on certain bean plants and the two ladybirds I put there didn't seem interested (although one of them cleaned up a few greenfly from the lettuce).
Three other plot-holders took Brussels sprout plants off my hands and I gave the last two to my mum in exchange for the pretty yellow snapdragon (there for beauty and to attract beneficial insects). I started another batch of dwarf beans inside, 'Cantare' this time, and again most of them have declined to grow - too much water, perhaps?
Top row, L-R: French beans 'Cupidon', Asturian tree cabbage, Brussels sprouts plus baby kohl rabi, golden beetroot, climbing French beans 'Cherokee Trail of Tears' plus climbing flat bean 'Helda', peppermint.
Middle row: French beans 'Aquilon', Asturian tree cabbage, pointed cabbage 'Greyhound' plus a row of radish 'French Breakfast 2', breadseed poppy 'Sokol', pea shoots, dwarf runner bean 'Hestia'.
Bottom row: French beans 'Minidor', calendula 'Indian Prince', lettuce red iceberg, land cress 'Belle Isle' (still nothing) plus snapdragon, cultivated rocket, nasturtium.
Only mint harvested this week but the pea shoots are ready for cutting again now.

It was a busy week! I didn't take many pictures at all. However, when my son got some Star Wars Legos for Christmas, with a couple of wookie figurines, this photo popped into mind. Yeah, it's a copycat photo, but I've been known to do that from time to time...(Just ask Joe). Anyway, I thought it would fit well here this week since Joe is a Star Wars fan and it was recently his birthday. I dedicate this photo to you for your birthday, Joe! Hope you had a good one and hope you had a blast on your trip!
