this week for 52 weeks for dogs, we had the theme of "catch." i have been wanting to get a picture of alice's ball-catching face, so i thought this was a good week to do it. she may not be actually catching in this shot, but a split second later, she was. :)
in case you were wondering, the orange blob at the bottom center of the photo is the incoming ball.
My take on the theme this week. One of those shots that as I was taking it I didn't realize it had any real potential until I saw it on my big screen. I chose to go with b/w for this photo to place emphasis on the repeating poles as well as their reflections in the water.

Very short for time, took a different route, framing my visiting daughter-in-law´s lovely face with a shawl, for a mysterious look at her French-Lebanese beauty.
I need to get back on track with posting and commenting. Internet trouble and life's chaos are getting in the way. I committed to fostering a dog last week, then 3 days later, while visiting family 2.5 hours away, was suckered into taking home a neighbor's son's dog that had been chained for a year. By the end of next week I'll have 5 dogs! In the end, I'm so glad I got that dog off of the chain. He's the sweetest thing ever and I found a rescue to help with him and we'll be his foster. I'm already thinking we might be foster failures. What is wrong with me?!?!

Week 9 has kind of creep up on us and we have not been able to do much better than this.
Dylian is showcasing his best command of "place" having to keep it even if his crazy sister is doing all kinds of crazy and distracting things around him.
This week he learned to spin... He learns quickly which makes it all that much more fun. I need ideas of tricks to teach him. I think he really needs to be challenged.
Sometimes things are not what they appear to be , This is an effect I have been trying to perfect, a collage distorted and turned into a ball with a REFLECTION .. Not sure about my facial expression. It looks like I'm laughing, but that definitely wasn't what I was doing. The long exposure while shaking my head made it hard to control the final outcome.
Tried some levitation this week! My second strobe has arrived so placed one outside the door and one behind me to subtely light my feet and jeans. The trick was achieved with the help of a chair and then taking another image without chair but with strobes still firing.

One Yongnuo 560 outside at 1/4 turned sideways. One Canon 430EX II placed diagonal to feet at 1/32.
Photochallenge 2010: Week 3 Resolution

so, this is super simple but i'm super stressed. i've spent this whole weekend trying to catch up with homework (because I missed two weeks of school) and i'm not even close to being done
ugh.
This is a book I bought but haven't got around to reading it yet. I read reviews on this book and many people claim this solves the very interesting mystery of The Zodiac Killer so the sooner I read it the better.
I don't like shooting in harsh sunlight which is why I shot this while the sun was still very strong. I want to learn to control the types of lighting I'm least comfortable with.

I am now 37 weeks...full term baby!!
I had an u/s last Thursday and they estimated Tres to weigh about 7 pounds. Yes at 36 weeks! But that sounds about right since Jake was born at 38 weeks and weighed 8.5lbs. I don't know how I grow these big babies!! I am happy to be full term though...sigh of relief. Thank you Tres for behaving! :)
I got bored today since I finished editing my last session of the year (thank God!)...so I will be posting a few more belly pics later...

Week 50 - 16-23 December 2015
Just caught the first screening of Star Wars The Force Awakens, and realised that I haven't posted in quite a while... either 2 or 3 weeks.
In any case, here's is the highlight shot from last week. This was my favourite shot from Taylor Swift's last concert of the 1989 World Tour... and what a concert. More next week.

Painting project with my Granddaughter Aleyna. The Roots are grandparent handprints and the Leaves are the grandchildren's handprints. This is not a current photo because I'm very busy choosing all the finishes for my remodel project. This obviously is not a mirror image but I like its symmetry.
This is Ingunn, 22 years old and lives in Garðabær. I bet some of you recognize her as I have photographed her often, she is for instance my elf in the shot called "Mystical Gaze". We had been planning to take an angel photo of her for quite a while but were not going to schedule this photoshoot till November as I wanted to postpone most of the studio photos till then to make use of the fleeting daylight these days. However, she is about 3 months pregnant when this shot was taken so we sped up this photoshoot for this week instead, didn´t want a very obviously pregnant angel as it didn´t seem fitting, hehe :)
I have never ever ever tried something like this before so I really stumbled upon some beginner issues in mixing two photographs together, I have always just taken photos with the backround that was at hand.
I know there are some issues with this shot but I am still pretty happy with how it came out and I did learn a TON of stuff doing this so even though it´s not as well put together as a lot of other stuff I have seen, I like it. Spent about 4 hours post processing it, after that I got nothing but respect for people who do this on a daily basis.
Lit her with two lights, one on a boom behind/above her for hairlight and a big softbox from the front/to my right. Backround shot is taken of a Swedish cloud this last July when I went with the family to Stockholm for a weekend trip.
Week 51 - 23-30 December 2015
Late posting again, this will be the second last posting for the year.
I took this at our christmas party, t the zoo, yes... at the zoo. Shot this baboon and her baby heading for cover as it was about to rain. It got me thinking of family, and the time of the year and spending time with family. So here's my contribution to the holidays. More soon.
