A great action shot from tubing on the weekend... Our last weekend with our International Student. We will miss him!!

Oh man are bioluminescent creatures weird! Although I suppose this one doesn't exist. But that's the whole point of Beast Every Week: create a creature and have fun! Check and check.

Friday October 9th Demonstration

taken on my due date - so ready to meet this kid!

Sometimes you just need to get away.

I'm doing the 52 week photo project again this year. First week is reflections - this pile of lingering Christmas ornaments MUST get put away... if only the rain would stop so I'd drag myself to the garage.

And DOH! a week ahead of the Bokeh theme...

Sunlight catching the Bird of Paradise bloom

Definitely not one of my hobbies, but very popular at Smith’s Beach, Yallingup.

please read the end of this description!

It's finals week. I really feel like schools shouldn't do this to people. I feel like I may have heart problems when it's over.

Good news is it's SO close to Christmas break. Which to me means an entire MONTH without class! I can't wait! :)

*Also, I have a question for you guys. If I did a print giveaway, would anyone enter? I wouldn't want to do one and only have 3 people enter... So, let me know if you're interested. If enough people are, I'll do one. :)

Theme of The Week - Bodyscape

I really like this little guy.

Heelo girls! Reese Cannon here. Sorry I couldn't make it last week. Well let's get started! :)

This week your photo-shoot was nymph inspired were you had to wear long extensions in the dark blue sea.

Bottom 2:

Keelie & Ivy.

Keelie you stand before us because your photo this week was un-inspiring. You looked bored and stiff. If you continue on we need to see that fire in you.

Ivy you are no stranger to the bottom. This week you really needed to wow us, but unfortunately you didn't.

So who stays and who goes in this compettion?

10. Keelie! www.flickr.com/photos/64797113@N05/5964036648/in/photostr... Congrats, you are still in the running towards becomming "The Next !t Girl".

Eliminated: Ivy www.flickr.com/photos/64797113@N05/5964034040/in/photostr... Goodluck and goodbye Ivy! You are not "The Next !t Girl" but we expect great things from you in the future! :)

Bryce & Ivy's interview will be up when we get home from vacation.

My husband loves to buy hats when we travel and this is a very small portion of his collection. He has been known to buy 6-8 different ones in the same location because he can't choose between them!

I found this collection quite difficult to photograph, I had 50 of them laid out on the table but resorted to capturing just a few to try and make it interesting.

Vito's Life Lessons

Week 46

Dare to be Different.

We met up with a friend on a walk the other day and I snapped a group photo. Vito is definitely a stand out kinda guy. ;)

From left to right:

Pixel, Wicca, Sunar, Vito, Rocky.

(Sunar and Rocky belong to my friend)

The three on the left are Cardigan Corgis, and the guy on the end is a Pembroke. And then there is Vito. :)

Theme of The Week -- Wildlife

I was a little unsure where I was as sat nav had taken me across country to avoid the motorway jams. I think I was on the yellow brick road.

I don't normally use my phone for taking photos to upload. but yesterday I was driving to Burton in the wet and stopped at traffic lights. There was a lovely rainbow, hard to see but it was a double rainbow. I managed to grab a photo. Not the best but this is straight out of the camera.

I found this spot by San Rafael Bay back in week 13 of this project and decided to try again this weekend. I was down there before sunrise to see if I could improve on my last attempt. This time the sun rose in a different part of the horizon, giving a much cooler effect, but when it did appear it illuminated the fishing pier nicely. I also tried not to overdo it on the processing so this one feels more natural.

One of my Santa figures which I put up as decoration.

Almost 39 weeks now.

We went to our first ante-natal class about a month ago and never came back.. I was okay with it but Niki was appalled by the matter of fact approach and how we were constantly reminded of pain and tearing and all the things that can go wrong… We felt if things do go wrong, we will trust ourselves to doctors who are there to give us the best treatment. We certainly do not want to be shocked into it.

So, we took up an alternative approach called Calmbirth. In the US, I believe it is called Hypnobirth. I came into the class expecting Niki to be hypnotised into a pain-free birth. However, the classes were very educational in explaining how the body behaves through labour and how the mother can calmly do controlled breathing to managed the discomfort (note: the word pain should never be used, when you are asked how painful, you will focus on the pain..).

Well, we’ll see how this approach goes soon I guess. For Niki, this is a more acceptable approach to labour and I believe a more encouraging one.

As for me:

I have been in hibernation for a little while now and obviously have not done much photography. The last several months of change - moving cities, changing jobs and preparing our household for a new member.. preparing to be a family for the first time.. Well, I hope you can understand photography is slipping to the side for a bit. I hope to rectify that now we've settled down in our little town on the border of Melbourne - this is quite a beautiful place and there are so many opportunity for beautiful photography here. Plus.. there's going to be plenty of baby photos coming up.. Still, I may squeeze in the odd artistic nude photography when I get the time to.

Last year on Boxing Day I was around 90/91kgs (I'm 6ft tall with a medium build so fat but not obese) and decided to stop being a lazy shit and start controlling what I eat again.

From Boxing day onwards, I stopped the double desserts and started counting my calories again everyday. Thankfully I still have a fast metabolism so I didn't have to change what I eat, just how much I actually consume (steak and icecream are consumed several times a week still ;D ). This morning I weighed in at 83.6 which I'm very proud of considering how long it's been since I started my diet.

Like the 52 week project, my diet is something I plan to continue throughout the year and not get lazy in again!

Chickamauga Creek in Soddy-Daisy, TN

2/52, PTM let's do 52 ~ Open

Finally the Mystica Hamelon was back this year. It was great to walk over the market, eat good food and listen to some music.

oh my goodness, only 2 more pics and this project will be finished!!

sorry for the late upload but i had a lot to do for school this week. i really hate it..

tomorrow i'll have to work at the school dance as a photographer. actually i like that but we don't get paid and we don't even get sausage in our rolls :D

let me repeat what they said: of course you get something to eat. we have one roll for everyone of you but if you want sausage in it you have to bring it yourself.

what? :D

anyways i hope it will be fun. haha

Week 2- My Front Door

What I like about my front door is that it's over 100 years old and it's full of imperfections--from dust on the bevels (Hey, I live in windy, dusty Kansas!) to paint on the metal, it's full of charm.

**SOOC = Straight Out OF Camera**

Day 6 of sooc week and I decided to grab the camera and take random shots. Here is what I came up with. 1 more day to go until I can get back to my sweet sweet Photoshop.

For those of you who want the backstory about sooc week...

I am a graphic designer and I have to say I am extremely obsessed with processing my photos. This week series is me trying to not to use any photo editing not even cropping. I must say already waiting 10 minutes for uncropped/unoptimize photos to load is already annoying LOL.

okay, the title has nothing to do with the picture, but i couldn't stop singing, "they call me mellow yellow..." as i was editing it. lol!!

it has been a busy couple of weeks, a busy summer really, and the dogs and i were long over-due for a quiet evening at home... just relishing in that magical time when the sun starts to go down and the slightest breeze picks up and the day is finally bearable for a few minutes. i liked how the sun was hitting these trees across the road and making everything glow in fall colors. something caught june's eye and she stood here for quite a long time, just watching.

Taken at home, I was 30 weeks pregnant when I decided to start my DIY maternity shoots. This was shot in my spare bedroom using only natural light provided by the window, the camera was set up on a tripod at the foot of the bed and I used a remote with a 2 second delayed shutter release.

Does not quite fit the theme but I like it. I'll just say this is not the complete herd of bison. :)

Collective 52 Photo Project - 2018

I am always looking at the sky and saying..."Look at the clouds!"

My husband doesn't get it.

At my brother's and came in from the pool for a bit. Hey.
