Waves

Whenever I'm out photographing a well known landscape feature, I always look around and try to get images other than the most popular view. Those views may not have as awesome a feature that nature has created, but the views can still be interesting. This image at the Fire Wave is made on the side opposite of the wave feature. Such photos can serve as "documentation" of the local geology and landscape that some might ignore.

While on a camping trip in Oct in Port Renfrew ( Vancouver Island, B.C.), I enjoyed watching a couple of surfers doing their thing!

In Torquay this weekend we have had the Wavelength festival where Rock walk, Torre Abbey and Corbyn head have been illuminated with lasers, lights and projected images.

in this shot the trees at Corbyn Head are illuminated.

This is the lava of Kilauea.

...and, with patience, captured

It's amazing what detail there is in waves.

A wave is a surprise, each one different, fascinating and beautiful, photographing them a challenge, because unexpectedly you can be submerged in it.

When the storm Babet arrive the South of Norway, I went to Kalvehageneset to try to get som amazing photographs of waves and the Lighthouse Homborsund.

Incoming Waves vs Outgoing Tide - New Smyrna Beach, Fl

Another shot from the beach at Jokulsarlon, this time without the icebergs. The waves there are also fantastic!

Some Big Waves crashing into the cliff's at the Bay of Skaill, Orkney. Several days of westerly gale and the lumps start to grow!!

Cliff top walk anyone?

Thankfully, not high rolling waves but I guess they are rolling inwards towards the beach!

Tumultuous ending of a wave upon the shoreline

The green waves now follow the green wall.

This is the second photo from the Rolling Hills location in Moravia, Czech Republic.

At the same time, this is my absolute favorite photo from the entire tour. If I had returned home after three days with just this photo, I would have been completely satisfied (of course I'm still happy that that's not the case).

This picture shows a slightly wider view of the hills behind the line of trees. Because of this, and because of the more intense "light and shadow play", it has a completely different dynamic than the version I showed you last week.

My wish as a photographer is to create at least one photo every month, which I really like. With this photo here, I have definitely achieved this target for April.

Nach der grünen Wand folgen nun die grünen Wellen.

Dies ist das zweite Foto von der Location "Rollende Hügel" in Mähren in der Tschechischen Republik.

Gleichzeitig ist dies mein absolutes Lieblingsbild von der gesamten Tour. Währe ich nach drei Tagen nur mit diesem Foto zurück nach Hause gekommen, wäre ich voll zufrieden gewesen (ich freue mich natürlich trotzdem, dass dem nicht so ist).

Dieses Bild zeigt einen etwas weiteren Blick auf die Hügel hinter der Baumreihe. Dadurch, und wegen der intensiveren "Licht und Schatten Spiele" hat es eine völlig andere Dynamik als die Version, die ich Euch letzte Woche gezeigt habe.

Mein Wunsch als Fotograf ist es jeden Monat mindestens ein Foto hinzubekommen, was mir richtig gut gefällt. Mit dieser Aufnahme hier, habe ich dieses Soll für den April in jedem Fall geschafft.

Taken from a RIB in the sea between the Pembrokeshire coast and Ramsey island. The waves are caused by the tide and a group of rocks known as the Bitches.
