Today storm Eleanor hit the west of the UK, like a mad man i headed out to a spot which can get pretty wild at times to try and capture an image ive had in thought for a while now. All the elements for the shot where there today but they didn't arrive at the same time so its back to waiting. I did capture some interesting images which i will share shortly. This image is just of two waves about to crash and release their energy.
The conductor waves from CN 4904 as the Pointe St-Charles Switcher passes a bit of fall colours in the Port of Montreal.
This is a photo of the light reflecting on the surface of a wave in the clear water at Clam Harbour Beach.
I never ceased to be envigorated by waves crashing on the shore. This particular morning there was a strong wind and I stool behind the shingle shore which had been built up by the eroding waves. This part of the beach has to be constantly shored up with fresh shingle to keep the sea at bay.

A wave like cloud formation blankets the Bwlch Main ridge leading up to the hidden summit of Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa).
This cloud remained firmly in place all day as we walked the Nantlle Ridge on the opposite side of the valley in clear conditions. This was a 100-400 telephoto shot taken from the summit of Y Garn. You can make out the Rhyd Ddu Path route up Snowdon, leading along the curving cliff face of Llechog up to the Bwlch Main ridge as it disappears into the clouds.
This was a grand day out with John Bleakley at the end of 2024.

Here is another view of 56078 working the 6M51 1625 Baglan Bay to Chirk logs. The zoom effect on this shot has accentuated the heat haze and also shows the driver giving the signal man a wave. The lighting was delicious on this evening so no appologies for a 2nd shot of the logs.

The strong impacts of the Atlantic Ocean reaching the North Cornish Coast. Taken with a Canon EOS 400D Digital at Widemouth Bay, Cornwall, England.
I was going through the archives for something to post, and came across this shot from a year ago. I had to check as I had got it into my head that it was actually two years ago as it seemed so long ago. Sadly it just goes to show it has been very long year.
Anyway, this is a reminder of an amazing morning watching nature in the raw down on the South Wales coast at Porthcawl. Huge waves driven by Storm Dennis came crashing in and then burst skywards as they hit the sea wall (the mole). To give you a sense of scale, the little lighthouse is about 30 feet high.

It was a slighty hazy when i take this pictures thus the colors are bit dull but i still like it :D
