This is what I can see from my motel balcony, the Long Beach Motor Inn, in York Beach, Maine September 23, 2012.

especially when you surf...you never get tired of looking at waves...see if they're rideable or not. mother ocean always has a new picture for you
As we drove back up Highway 1 to the ranch at the end of New Year's Day the wind had picked up and the surface of the Pacific Ocean turned into something that resembled an upturned corrugated steel roofing sheet with wave after wave rolling endlessly against the shore.

A translucent blue sculpture of a human figure hangs suspended in mid-air, captured in a graceful diving pose. The figure reaches downward with outstretched arms, its smooth, glass-like surface catching the light against the backdrop of a textured brick building.
