That's all for this week my friend. I'm going to enjoy a girly stroll in the garden and surroundings, so with a happy smile I'm waving goodbye to you for now. All the best to you and no worries; surely we'll see each other again soon.

Another shot from down the beach. Just practising for my holidays.

Did I mention I'm going away to somewhere hot next week?!

A combination of a high tide and strong wind created big waves which crashed onto the 'rock reinforced' edge of the river this afternoon. We went to the park near the river with the grandchildren but it soon lost it's attraction when they saw the waves. They had heaps of fun running to avoid getting splashed as the extra big ones crashed on the rocks.

These two were taken a bit later so the sky is darker, and because the wind had dropped a bit, the waves weren't as big

"Cardinal Waves Goodbye' by Patti Deters. A red Northern Cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) raises a wing as he perches on a slender tree branch. With him facing the edge of the frame, it looks like he is waving goodbye - and about to fly away. This adult male cardinal, easily identifiable by its red feathers and black mask around the beak, is a common yet charismatic songbird found across North and Central America - this particular bird was photographed in the Rio Grande River Valley at Laguna Seca Ranch in southern Texas, USA. Curacao’s coastline has an angry side with high surf and wind. Had to fight the wind and near constant spray to get some shots.

Just a picture of some waves that I shot while in Newfoundland, which I really like taking.

Trebarwith Strand, Cornwall

From a sunrise shoot with fellow flickr photographers Archie McCafferty and Warwick Briggs at Susan Gilmore Beach, NSW; Australia this week.

Lee hard 0.9 grad and Zomei 3 stop ND filters used to achieve an exposure around 0.5 seconds and blur the water.

This beach was once infamous as a nudist beach, but with more relaxed public acceptance of partial nudity on most beaches; this tends not to happen here nowadays.
