Coyote Buttes - The Wave The Wave is located in the Coyote Buttes North area of the Arizona Strip. There are two great photographic locations in Coyote Buttes North (The Wave and The Second Wave) and numerous minor ones including Top Rock Arch, Melody Arch and the Grotto, the Hooters, The Alcove, Sand Cove, and Fatali's Boneyard. The Wave is best photographed midday so as to minimize the extensive shadows, the other areas listed above are best photographed mid-late afternoon.
Once again some wild weather around Sydney. The monochrome presentation brings out this wave's sinister side. Seen at Curl Curl.
Some very strange waves on Loch Caolisport - appearing out of a flat-calm sea came some very energetic short-frequency waves creating a playground for a bunch of Eider ducks evidently enjoying playing on the crests, and dangerous enough for the Labrador to not want to try his luck swimming.

Upon arrival in Iceland we were met by news that the winter's first storm was scheduled to sweep across Iceland over the following week. With it, came 14m/s+ winds, dust storms, and harsh conditions. But, it also made for beautiful photography, fresh dustings of snow, and a proper taste of Iceland's harsh but magnificent weather.
These photos were taken over a 7 day, 2,000km road trip along the South East and Eastern Fjords.

In 1925, Duke Kahanamoku brought the sport of surfing to Huntington Beach and the Southern California shores. The city’s first surf shop, Gordie’s Surf Boards, opened in 1953. Six years later, the first U.S. Surfing Championships were held in Huntington Beach. The following year, the Surfing Championships were covered on television, which rocketed Huntington Beach’s international fame as a surfer’s paradise. In 2005, the USA Surf Team adopted Huntington Beach as its official home and the Association of Surfing Professionals-North America moved to the city.
Thought I'd post something a little different today. We had a large swell hit the coast last week so I got out and took some shots of the waves and then got out in the water and caught a few good ones for myself too. This was taken from the Capitola pier.
