Long exposure over the rocky coast line as the waves come crashing in

The tuna blaster and spinning the pink(you could not make these up could you ) has allowed a brief entrance again this evening . Big surf this morning - literally the wind changed just before 7 am and i had a quick 10 minutes before running off to get ready for work with the most beautiful waves and light. Getting to know a lot of the surfers/swimmers down there now - see the wee surfer on the far right of the shot ?.

As I may (or may not ;)) have said before Bronte is more of a village/community than Bondi which is like central station and the more you ignore people the cooler you are over there ;). Maybe now is the time to let you guys know how much I am loving it here ;))

I guess you can't tour Western Australia without going to Wave Rock. A lot of people had told us to be prepared to be underwhelmed. I think they were wrong, it was definitely worth the long drive to see it.

Sorry for inadvertently disabling comments - thanks aiane* for letting me know!

While the strong winds were making it hard for me to hold the camouflage tent and also take photos, there were some benefits as well. The Bee-eaters could barely land on the perches and they would constantly move to try to balance. This gave me the opportunity to get photos like this one.

- Keefer Lake, Ontario, Canada -

Abstraction in the first light.

Four days after strong winds, the waves size increased in size up to 4m in height. This is the first in a sequence of three photos of one of the large waves as it breaks.

Please view enlarged - type "L".

I did not try to shoot a movie of the waves this time because the Pentax K-1 has quite a slow frame rate. If you are interested I did shoot some movie footage of waves in 2017. You can see it

Thank you for visiting. I appreciate the faves very much.

Strong Waves hit Arklow pier during storm Ciara. (February 2020)

Even in the midst of a huge storm rolling in, this flag was just begging for a picture. I haven't seen a storm like this in quite some time...the clouds were intensely dark.

These back-lit waves give off a rather pleasing halo effect. This is an older photo than the other recent posts, it's before the lighthouse had been renovated.
