Hilton Head Island (or Hilton Head) is a resort town in Beaufort County, South Carolina, United States. It is 20 miles north of Savannah, Georgia, and 95 miles south of Charleston. The island features 12 miles of beachfront on the Atlantic Ocean and is a popular vacation destination. Hilton Head Island is often referred to as the second largest barrier island on the eastern seaboard after Long Island.
