Huge waves were battering the south breakwater at Aberdeen harbour and were cascading over the inner wall.

Went for a walk along the beach at Point Leo with my dog, he was very patient while I took this.
These rock pool are only accessable at low tide, quite a bit of running for higher ground when wave came in made things tough, but worth it.

When 2014 rolled around, I decided my birding resolution would be to spend more time near the ocean exploring the variety of sea and shore birds we have here.
The photography challenges are different. I can also say that I am getting very good at walking over slick snow covered rocks by the water's edge, as what was needed for this capture. The water was going over the sandpiper's rock as the tide was coming in, I thought it made for a neat scene. It was a wet snow that day, as you can see the flakes and drops on the sandpiper's back.

All alone with the waves of Ocean Beach...
I wanted to show the waves hitting the breakwater, but the sea has been very calm this week. I took 22 pictures, but used 8 for this challenge. Just managed to keep my feet dry!
