Today in Erris was a day to die for. I was meant to be working but who could work with all this activity going on!
This tall symmetrical wave form is caused by incoming waves from the North Sea passing through reflected waves from Bridlington's north beach breakwater. Constructive interference aka reinforcement results in a large (2-3m high) wave form.
Flamborough Head, made of chalk rock, can be seen in the background.
Again I took a slightly atypical picture at John O'Groats.
The waves were fabulous! And while Jamie was busy taking pictures of German tourists (well, me), I managed to get this one.
I like it.
