La mayor ola surfeada nunca en este spot del norte de la isla de Gran Canaria, uno de los mas peligrosos del mundo.

The Biggest wave ever surfed in this spot of the north of the island of Gran Canaria, one of the most dangerous in the world.

I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,

And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,

And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking,

And a grey mist on the sea's face, and a grey dawn breaking.

I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide

Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;

And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,

And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,

To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a whetted knife;

And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover

And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over

A huge wave at muttam near kanniyakumari..

Tobi wanted one last picture at the end of our shoot and I couldn't think of anything! Blackouts like this seem to happen to me sometimes. I was out with Wendy last weekend and we stumbled upon this amazing location and again after a couple of shots, i was drawing a blank . I actually had to sit in the car alone for sometime and think about what i wanted to shoot next( which actually helped).

Anyway, moving along to this picture, Tobi is not standing in the water because she spotted a lobster-like creature crawling around in it. Need to watch out for those things in small streams.

It was a wet and windy day along the California coastline today...

(Sorry I've been dumping and running lately - busy with work and home - will catch up with you all soon)

I typically upload in small sets - don't just look at the latest one in my photostream as you might be missing something you'll like more.... and your comments are ALWAYS welcome :)

Waves at Sandy Beach, Oahu, Hawaii, USA

LOMO LC-A, Kodak EBX @ Toshimaen, Tokyo, Japan

I took this object with Holga from another angle on the same day, but from LC-A, I got the different impression and feeling. When it comes to Holga, I went upstairs to take a photo of a wave swinger nearby, but in case of LC-A, I went downstairs and took it a little remotely. Interesting different impression !!!

Holga's photo is:

To get these shots I waded and took the crash of waves up to my knee at one point.

In 1925, Duke Kahanamoku brought the sport of surfing to Huntington Beach and the Southern California shores. The city’s first surf shop, Gordie’s Surf Boards, opened in 1953. Six years later, the first U.S. Surfing Championships were held in Huntington Beach. The following year, the Surfing Championships were covered on television, which rocketed Huntington Beach’s international fame as a surfer’s paradise. In 2005, the USA Surf Team adopted Huntington Beach as its official home and the Association of Surfing Professionals-North America moved to the city.

Every wave is unique

Move away from birds for awhile, well, for today anyway!!!!
