I got well lucky with this shot :)
Its the Indian Ocean where Margaret River's outlet is. A couple of hours drive south of Perth.
A simple shot of crashing waves at sunset...

This gull was sitting and watching the waves break around him. He was quite confident the waves could not touch him, and never took off.
This was taken in the Deception Pass State Park (Washington State).
I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.
From Sea Fever by John Masefield
It seemed like something was under the water helping to create these waves but it was probably the water bouncing off the breaker wall here at the west end of Summerland Beach.

Say that title three times fast. We stopped at the Garrapata Beach pullout to check for Pelicans riding cliff updrafts but there was an offshore wind that day. We found a subject in some surfers riding pretty big waves left over from a storm. There were some other people on the cliff watching and giving us a play by play. The guy pictured is a professional surfer that is local to Big Sur, unfortunately I didn't catch his name.
