I got another grabbag from Stubby Stampers, 54 stamps, a mini grabbag freebie of 20 tiny stamps, and a complete alphabet for under $10 postage included. I also order three other stamps because they have a $10 minimum before postage for the 25% off sale. The grabbag itself was only $7.50. I just ordered another while they are on sale.
I just realized the end looks kinda like a book spine...go me! For decoration I tried some of the Alabama Chanin applique techniques.
To get the look of old parchment it took 7 layers of acrylic paint. To age the large pic of the Cutty Sark I mixed a drop of brown paint in matte medium.
Witness the birth of journal #3, started November 9, 2006. It is a pressed wood cover clued to a cut down sketchbook.
The assignment was to trim page edges by tearing. I laid the plate down and tore around it. I was surprised how easy it was to get a nice half-circle that way. Then I did the same thing with the saucer. Last I added a page of a different paper, the center circle is tipped in and made from an old book.
Weekend! Looking for holiday travels... eating falafel doner, noticed that the flower bulbs are beginning to grow.
soft cover, pocket; the paper is much thinner than my classic hard cover, but it takes beautifully to pilot pens
I wore this today. Scan from this one:

A page I finally got round to finishing. I did this as part of nancy Baumiller's on-line class. See more here:
People become Neanderthals when they stand in a line and a new counter opens. They scramble and push and those who stood on last position in the line try to come in the first position at the new opened counter. They run into other peoples achilles tendons with their shopping carts, I HATE THIS BARBARIC BEHAVIOUR!
This is my new journal that I made for 2009. The front and back have embedded lace, and the front also has embedded letters. It's all covered with paint and glitter glue, as it should be.
The pages are a mix of various kinds that I like--braille pages, pages from old kids' books, rosin paper, watercolor paper, etc.
