Visual Journalism of a talk I gave on Community at the Future of Talent event in Tiburon, CA, October 12, 2008. Visual Journalism by Elieen Clegg (http://www.visualinsight.net)
For day 16 of "30 days of Get Your Art On," I started on the cover of a journal to sell. I used some of the techniques from my book "Print & Stamp Lab" to apply the paint with rollers and found-object stamps.
The daughter of a friend of us wanted to go to the Hansa Park. I'm really not a fan of rollercoasters, but I came with them. To my mind I've been very brave, because I went with some funfair rides - but of course NOT with the "Fluch von Novgorod"!
There was also a parrot show and until it began I was allowed to hold the sulphur-crested cockatoo on my hand. I love parrots, so I was very happy. ;-)
From time to time I press my Moleskine Pocket diary between two breakfast boards and two screw clamps. The waved paper (from watercolor treatments) will lie flat after that.
But note: Don't close the elastic closure strap like I did on this picture. It will leave an imprint on the cover material.
I haven't journaled on it yet, but I know it's going to have that title.
Using techniques from Dina Wakely's Art Journaling 101 class
Thanks A-dab-adu for recommending that class! It was really fun!

When my mobile phone rang in the night I dind't answerd the phone. But after 5 minutes it went again, so I answered - it was my boyfriends neighbor who informed me that the firebrigade was fixed to break the door, because the smoke detector gave alarm. She told me that there were 3 fire engines, we had to come along immediately. Five minutes later we reached the house and could open the door. It didn't burn, just a nuisance alarm. What a terrible fright in the night!
