My stack of creative journals.
I have been writing in journals, on and off, for 30 years. In 2009 I started to do creative journaling.

This really came about by accident. I normally do not do much to the backs of my journals and I added some papers and did not like it so I just kept going and pasting more and more snippets on until I liked it.
This is how I spent my New Year's Eve. I was almost through with my other journal, so I decided to start a new one for the new year. I decided to stay in the Time Life series of the "Life World Library". This book is on India. For some reason I never did anything to the covers of my other visual journals. I thought arting up the cover of this one would be a good start to a fresh start. I really like how it turned out.
It's June 1st. My first year has ended as an assistant teacher, and I'm now certified to teach K-12. I'm waiting for God to send me my own kids. I can't wait to be with them, and I hope they will enjoy me. :)
We went into a bookshop, and I paged through some books. When I wanted to leave the store I searched for my boyfriend. He sat in a chair and pretended to be asleep. With a really harebrained expression and lolling tongue. LOL!
I was ready for a new journal for a new year. (Plus, my last one was just a few pages from being full.) So I decided to make a new one from scratch and I'm very happy with how it turned out. It's 8" x 10" and I filled it with various paper: watercolor paper, paper from a braille bible, rosin paper (used in construction), and pages from an old kid's book. The rubber stamps I used on it are all hand-carved except for the alphabet. I LOVE the binding I did!
A sneek peek of a page in my art journal. Well, we all end up in the doghouse at some point don't we?! Body from Lisa's Altered Art, head and other bits from Teesha Moore. More here:
